My dualboxing team has reached level 15. Yep, only 15. I started this
project a couple of weeks ago but I don't get a lot of time to play
WoW these days so they've leveled slowly (anyone got any suggestions
on how to earn a living without working a 9-6 job?).
My initial thoughts for a second WoW account was that it would help
leveling a second character because when it came time for instances I
could self boost with my 70 druid for the drops, xp, quest xp and
quest rewards. I realised that wouldn't work out so well if I wanted
to level a 2 man team since I could only boost one of the characters
(on the other account ofc).
Anyway, at the moment I have my setup with the priest as the main
because I find healing tricky if I'm not controlling that character
directly. I use AutoHotkey to forward keypresses which works quite
well, except for when whispering or party chat keypresses interfere.
There are ways to try get around this by disabling the forwarding at
certain keypresses (r for reply for eg) but it doesn't work too well.
I managed to run RFC the other day as part of a group. We had a good
tank (yes, even at level 14) who kept aggro well, my warlock topped
damage and we had no wipes, was pretty good.
My strategy for questing is pretty simple and works well at this
level: Send Voidwalker -> Smite/Corruption (shared hotkey), SW:P/CoA
(shared hotkey) -> wand to death. Mobs die quickly because the Great
Magic Wand has nice damage for this level, especially from 2
characters at once. I'll probably have to adjust to start casting more
at some point.
So what spec should I level these two as? I'm on a PvP server so I was
tempted to level the warlock as Demonology for the stam benefits etc,
but decided to try Affliction first. The priest so far is going down
the Holy tree. I figure Holy can put out decent damage and with better
healing the team can probably take on a lot more mobs at once.
I will probably give Shadow a try once I'm high enough for the really
nice talents which will help the warlock damage too. I never took
Spirit Tap since so far mana usage is negligable.
I'm having good fun, just wish I had more time to play.
