I know that Wargamer.com is a wargame magazine, but how can a best of
2007 not include the best-selling first-person shooter (Halo 3) and
best-selling RPG (Mass Effect) of 2007?!?

seriously, I have not heard of either of them.

Also, if wargamer.com starts following gamesquad.com into lowest common
denominator stuff like console and handhelds, I would be gravely
disappointed.

cheers

I agree that the focus of Wargamer.com should be on wargames. But if
you are going to have a category called "Best First Person Shooter" or
"Best RPG," these are just ridiculously obvious omissions.

I agree - at least the pc wargame, strategy and boardgame categories
were pretty complete at first glance - goes to show that wanting to
cover too much is often not such a good idea ...

Sorry, folks, but those omissions were deliberate. We've never posted
a console category in our Readers Choice voting.

Just wanted to warn you that the vote call has been published
yesterday and it looks like all previous votes casted before the
official launch seem to have been canceled. Surprised(

Korrigan,
Look carefully and you'll see that they've added some categories.
Look carefully enough and I'm sure that your sad face will disappear...

I just casted my vote once again.
Indeed, there are some changes.

Clearly, in such long lists, having a company name in full capital and
beginning with an 'A' is an advantage. Smile

LOL Surprised)

Sure, if you compare AGEod to Gil R. & Ericbabe's Western Civ we have
an unfair alphabetical advantage

Not to mention the acronym of our flag game (AACW)...

Muahahhahahahahhha... I'm so evil Surprised)
(sorry, can't help to say this)

So your next game is going to be Advanced Anglo Area Acquisition
(AAAA) then instead of Vainglory of Nations ?

With a nick like "korrigan" *that* was never in doubt Smile

I must have missed something here - was it ever removed ? - apparantly
yes - I wonder why they didn't send out a mail to people who already
voted that their initial vote was cancelled.

No biggie - I voted again - takes about a minute.

Well, as I see it, the Greek letter 'omega' was often written as a W-
shaped letter (rather than the inverted-horseshoe that most people
recognize), so you guys are the 'alpha' and we're the 'omega' when it
comes to wargames. I'm not sure what this means, other than that if
we ever collaborate it might bring about the end of the world. After
all, the doomsday bomb in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" is referred
to as the "Alpha and Omega bomb"...

WCS is also at a disadvantage in the "Developer of the Year" voting in
that we didn't have a new game come out in 2007, so we're not
eligible. (FOF was release on Nov. 29, 2006.) So even if our company
name were AAAWCS, we'd be getting no votes this time around...
