"Spraying fire" on p. 409 of Campaigns might be what you're looking
for. That is, I would use those rules for flamethrowers as well as for
hosing down squads of mooks with machine guns. (Except that, to me,
it's silly that it's _easier_ to hit two different targets than a
single target if you have high ROF and a high Rcl. I'd want to work
out a way to make Rcl apply to subsequent targets as well.)
GURPS 4E High-Tech doesn't have an index entry for "walking the
burst," but it does discuss Ranged Rapid Strike, whereby you can use
ROF 2+ to make two distinct attacks instead of autofiring at a single
target.
