I'm looking for a buyer for my Wow account, I have a level 60 Mage on a
PvE server along with a 43 priest on this server. The level 60 Priest
is on PvP and almost has Max Rep with the elves, the idea was that I
was going to get PvP rank up and get a black cat.
I've gone to sell this account on ebay a couple of times but it keeps
getting taken down so I thought I'd try my luck here. If you would
like to make an offer or would like more details then email me at

Same doc as the old AGD doc?
Anyways if you read the software TOS you will find that it is perfectly
legitimate to trade ownership of the game provided all original
materials are transferred manual, discs, packaging and so on. Blizzard
have no way of proving that someone who has bought an account has no
received these materials and as such stories are generally just urban
legends.
> Then of course, there is the risk that the seller may want the account back
> some day...
I fail to see how that is a valid point, that's like saying don't buy a
second hand car because the seller may want it back one day. Being the
original creator of the account does not allow any special powers over
the account with could result in it's reclamation.
Wow accounts are commonly traded and the only trap to watch out for is
people who sell the account but do not pass on the answer to the
"secret question" used to reset the password.
Please do not try to scare of potential buyers of my characters. I am a
legitimate seller and I would like to see my characters go to a good
home as I have put a lot of time and effort into the account.
I have already gotten several generous offers for my characters but as
this stage I will leave the anonymous bidding open for a little longer.
One person I had spoken to was desperate to play high level content and
is a big fan of both mage and priest classes, could not afford to pay
much for the account but does not get to play enough to get to 60 on
his own, at this stage I'd be willing to sell it cheaper to someone
like this who i know will appreciate the account. >> Stay informed about: WTS Account with 60 Mage and 60 Priest |

Selling the game is not the same as selling the account. You may remember
that *after* you bought the game, you had to create an account. You are
allowed to sell the game, but not to sell your account. This was all
explained carefully in the Terms and Conditions which you no doubt read
during installation of the game and creation of your account.

No you are not, because it is not legitimate to sell a game account. End of
story.

You can't. Accounts are not transferable (except that a child may play a
proportion of the time on their parent or guardian's account).

Thankyou all for you contribution, I can see where you are coming from
saying that there is an inherant danger for potential buyers of wow
accounts, I'd still like to sell the account though and I'm not the

Thanks. This is interesting as I have never taken the time to read the
Terms and Conditions. Each time Blizzard releases a new patch, I am ask to
read and agree to the T&C's. I am so anxious to play the game that Blizzard
could place a Quit Claim deed to my house in the T&C's and I would never
know. That is my fault, of course. >> Stay informed about: WTS Account with 60 Mage and 60 Priest |

Yes it does. Being the original creator of the account means that
you are the only person authorised to use that account, ever. This
is part of the terms and conditions of creating the account. It also
means that you personally are held responsible for any actions taken
using that account, regardless of who you may have "sold" it to. All
you need to do to reclaim it is phone Blizzard, tell them your
account has been hacked and stolen and request a password reset.
They will make you confirm the ORIGINAL account data, not whatever
it has been changed to since, and pass contol of the account back to
you.
>Wow accounts are commonly traded and the only trap to watch out for is

The trap is dishonest sellers.

There are no legimate sellers, because it is not permitted to sell
accounts. You may be an honest seller, with no intention of
defauding people, but you are still selling something that you are
not authorised to sell, and buyers must be made aware that what they
are buying is unauthorised access to your account, not an account of
their own.

Go list it on E-Bay. There are hundreds. You may even find one there you
are interested in buying. >> Stay informed about: WTS Account with 60 Mage and 60 Priest |

The game, yes, not the account. The TOS states that accounts cannot be
transferred, sold, given away, whatever.

The original owner merely has to say that they lost/forgot their password or
that the account was stolen from them and Blizzard's password recovery
system will deliver a new password to them.
> Wow accounts are commonly traded and the only trap to watch out for is

And people are commonly burned by buying accounts, secret question or no
secret question.

I certainly will try to scare off potential buyers. It's against Blizzard's
TOS and I have seen the disastrous results of them finding out about it. It
doesn't matter a hoot if you are an honest seller, they buyer can still get
burned. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
> I have already gotten several generous offers for my characters but as
> this stage I will leave the anonymous bidding open for a little longer.
If you were truly legitimate, you would remove your account from the market.
And if you are as concerned as you say you are that the account which you
have put so much 'time and effort' into going to a good home, consider
this... If Blizzard find out that the account has been transferred, they can
and *will* perma-ban it. Then the account will just cease to exist and
*no-one* will have access to it.

Desperate people do desperate things, like buying accounts - no matter what
the risk.

The game is not the account. It is indeed against the terms of service to
buy an account. If you do it, don't put anything important in there.
It can also be a scam, since forever after the original owner will be able
to provide credentials to blizzard and get control of the account back. In
brief, avoid. *

I have 2 lvl 60 characters and a number of other class/race
combinations in the 30's and I've decided to stop playing all together.
I worked really hard to build up those characters and I just dont want
to give them to anyone else. I don't really have any real life friends
that play, and so it appears pointless to continue. I'm going to play
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion until Warhammer comes out next year. I'll
try to use XFire IM to find guilds that will be active in Warhammer
next year. XFire login: "hulksbro"
