I just found 38 4th ed Goblin Spearmane and 36 Archers. I need command
models. any suggestions? Why do regular goblins cost an extra point for
bows? is a point of LD worth that much?

Also, are orcs on 20mm or 25mm bases. If on 25 I can use the old
heroquest orcs.

SO yes, I've decided to make an Orc & Goblin army. I picked up a 6th ed.
box for $20 to give me a good start on the orc part of the army. and
bolster my Empire Army.

If there are any O&G players around, I'm sure they have plenty of
command bitz, GW puts them on most of the sprues.

25mm, and they still barely fit.

I've been looking around for cheap 6th ed boxes, but I haven't seen any
that cheap. It's worth it just for the chariot. Back in detroit, my
FLGS put 3rd ed. 40k boxes on sale for $25, and I'm kicking myself now
for not buying both of them for the marines and the speeders.

I've somehow ended up with 1500 point in mostly unassembled O&G, so I
feel your pain.

short bows for 1 point is a good deal, even for goblins.

night goblins are I3 - this gives them a 50/50 chance of striking before a
lot of other armies' Core troops in the 2nd round of combat, which is quite
a big deal for such sucky troops. more significantly, they also get access
to fanatics.

Night Goblins get their bows for free(spears for 1 point), but are LD5.
Normal Goblins are LD6 I2 and pay a point for a bow or spear. But the
Goblin boss is 10pts more than the Night Goblin boss.
