I'll never get you into power if you won't leave my niece alone.

Yeah! Exactly.

Uhm, how does this prove my point again? Also, what was my point?

I wonder how fast a computer needs to be to run Youtube, flash,
antivirus, XVID, XP and some other stuff decently, mostly
simultaneously. It can certainly be done on a 1Ghz machine. But anything
lower than that and CPU, chipset, memory, videocard and what have you
may become dealbreakers. Financially it doesn't make much sense to go
for specs that low. A 2Ghz PC would be hardly more expensive and would
last you longer.

As it should be. Say a laptop lasts you 3 years and you buy a half
decent one for 600 euro's, then you spend 200 a year. Longer use is just
profit on the write off.

Of course, if the 100 dollar laptop heads our way too (if it appears at
all, that is), you might actually be better off buying a new machine
every year. Throwaway laptops, imagine that.

Also, if they have no friends, who will stab them in the back in the
end?

It's either the back or their end where they'll be stabbed. Although
Julius Caesar would disagree, maybe.
