Well, that's how it is sold to them. You really need this *slow*
connection to be able to visit websites, but you're much better off with
this *medium* connection otherwise everything will take a long time to
load.
But it's a bit the same with computers. You really don't need to have a
Intel Bitch processor and 2 GB of RAM to send an email, except when you
have Vista of course.

Sorry, but I really don't understand the need for a logo. What's the use
of it? It'll only take up unnecessary disk space.

At the moment there are about a thousand possible ways your website can
be displayed on a mobile browser, because it not only depends on the
brand and type of browser, but also on the carrier. And the only way to
really test it, is by getting your hands on all these cell phones

Well... Paint.NET is quite an improvement over MS Paint, but
unfortunately you need to have .NET stuff installed for that.

In my capitalist dictatorship Pixel would also not pay any taxes, so
he'd have plenty of money to pay for his software. Besides, I don't mind
paying for programs when I think they're really worth the money, even if
I could simply use the evaluation version with no limitations for all
eternity. It's just a matter of being honest. The only thing I don't
like is paying taxes over software though.

Everyone knows the highest laws aren't in textbooks. They're on little
scraps of paper you forget to take out of your pants before washing them.

What? MEDIUM?!?! I shall have no such inferior product. I demand Ultra
Fast Synchronous Premium. 200MB up and download limit? No problem!

Well here we do have a good reason for a faster computer. Though mostly
it's not the internet. Not right now at least. Try Youtube (or any video
or flash) on a Pentium II or III. You may run into trouble. Certainly
with anything slower.
The most important reason for a higher specs system is simple: it has to
be prepared for things to come. Upgrading the system is over most
peoples heads. Yet they expect a PC last 5 years if not a lifetime (it
should because it's so darn expensive). And the kids are bound to come
home with some game or other software that won't run on anything that's
two years old.
I've told people once too many "of course it doesn't work, it demands a
32mb videocard" and gotten the response "there's 64mb inside". Ram that is.

I thought Pixel wouldn't have to pay for anything since he had
befriended the dictator.

Oh yes, that's true. But then again the VP6 and Sorenson codecs used in
Flash are terribly CPU-inefficient. It doesn't make much sense that a
low-quality and low-res flash video uses twice as much CPU on my system
than a high-quality and high-res video encoded with Xvid, for instance.

Well, okay, you have a point, I hadn't thought of future references. And
unfortunatly, from what I've heard from friends, MS Word 2007, which in
effect is just a program to make a few documents, does require that
cutting edge computer. For myself though, my laptop that's over three
years old is more than enough.
