From what I've seen, there's not much you'd have to concern yourself with in
the newer sets. For Type 1 (Vintage - and yes, I *know* you said Legacy, but
most of what counts in one format will do the job in the other as well, with
a small handful of exceptions):
Masques block: Squee, Goblin Nabob; Misdirection; Foil; Daze; Rishadan Port;
Land Grant
Invasion block: Fact or Fiction; Meddling Mage; Terminate; Fire/Ice;
Pernicious Deed
Odyssey block: Psychatog; Nantuko Shade; Basking Rootwalla; Arrogant Wurm;
Fiery Temper; Volcanic Eruption; Worldgorger Dragon; Circular Logic;
Cunning/Living/Burning/Golden/Death Wish; Compulsion; Moment's Peace;
Firebolt; Deep Analysis
Onslaught block: Wellwisher; Exalted Angel; Tendrils of Agony; Brain Freeze;
fetchlands
Mirrodin block: Chrome Mox; 'affinity for..' (mostly artifacts); Arcbound
Ravager; Goblin Charbelcher; Darksteel Colossus; Pentavus; Thirst for
Knowledge; Engineered Explosives; Isochron Scepter; Trinisphere; Chalice of
the Void; Tooth and Nail
Kamigawa block: Zo-Zu the Punisher; Ninja of the Deep Hours; Pithing Needle;
Shining/Disrupting/Sickening/Blazing/Nourishing Shoal; Sakura-Tribe Elder;
Cranial Extraction; Gifts Ungiven; Umezawa's Jitte
That's all I can think of that really had any impact on older formats.
Ravnica is IMO too new, but so far the big stars seem to be the neo-duals,
Putrefy, Flame Fusillade, and Dark Confidant. The list is incomplete, of
course, but if you can get your brain wrapped around what these cards do,
you'll be covered for most of the big stuff - and you can build and tweak
your deck accordingly.
Hope this helps!
