Posting on behalf of the tournament director, Alan Mennel:

Variant Tournament Invitation!

Hello Everyone:

The Dipsters Group is running its first annual
"Dipsters Group Variant Tournament" beginning
in the first week of February.

The Group has chosen No-Press games in 1898 Gunboat
for this years variant.

We would like to invite those of you who are interested
to play in this tournament, provided that you are able
to qualify and join the Tournament Queue by:
Friday, January 25, 2008.

Very simple qualifications for any of you who may be
interested:
1) no willingly abandoned games
(judge crashes and personal emergencies are not
abandoned games as we see it)
2) a 90% or better ontime record on the judges
3) play your tournament games with at least an 80%
ontime record

The tournament rules are very similar to the No-Press
Tournament Rules for both the Dipsters Group and the
Vermont Group.

In this tournament, each player plays seven games
(one as each different power) and accumulates points
(6.00 to -1.00) from the outcome of each game. The
best total score wins the tournament.

For complete rules and game parameters, see:
http://www.floc.net/observer.py?judge=USOS&game=dvt08001&page=list

To register for the Tournament, fill out this mini-form
and by January 25 paste it into an email to:
