Since getting Free Time, I've noticed my vacationers are getting real
temperature extremes. First everyone is nearly frozen in Fembril
Winter at Three Lakes, and then everyone is melting (drink water,
drink water, drink water, pee, drink water, eat, sleep, wake up to
drink water, etc.) in Twiikii Island. I'm wondering if I'm just
hitting an outlyer random set of event or if weather extremes are
everywhere.

Is anyone else noticing the weather is more extreme in thier games--
especially on vacation? Or, maybe I just notice it more on vacation
as I go camping. Hotels cost way more and you still have to do the
dishes as maids don't clean hardly anything as no one works while you
are off the lot and no one comes except during peak hours for you to
be visiting other places and taking tours (normal daylight shift).

Maybe it is random. The sims did ok the first few days of a 7 day
vacation (getting warm as they often do on Twiikii Island, but not to
the point of heat exhaustion). But then they all (all 10) started
getting really hot. Showers did cool them, only drinking water. I
had to put in two more sinks. After a day and a half of managing the
lines at the sink and still having sims in heat exhaustion, I just
sent everyone home. By then, the three guests had already left.

I like vacations as a good chance to make friends....like when
families merge. But, I always camp, so the weather makes a difference
to me.

I have only done a few vacations, all to Twiikii Island--two before I
got FT and one after. I didn't notice temps one way or the other in
the vacations before FT.

For the FT vacation, I was paying special attention, because the Sims
were living outdoors, with only items from Castaways Stories and the
waterfall shower from MTS2--no indoors where they could get shade.
They actually did fine on a three-day vacation. One Sim's temperature
rose a few times, but either they played water balloon fight or she
cooled off in the waterfall shower or her temperature dropped back
into green in the wee hours of the morning while she was sleeping.

Certainly sounds unusual. I haven't taken anyone on vacation since
installing FT so can't say whether it's happening in my game or not. If
anything, in my Poverty Challenge lot they just had one of the mildest
winters on record, with no snow, the pond froze over and that's about it.

What I have noticed is that playing football (soccer) is a sure way to tire
out a sim. They start playing and their energy bar plummets really fast. I
wanted the two boys in the PC lot to play together as they both have sports
as their predestined hobby. They were too tired to do thwir homework later
and both collapsed into bed. I mean their energy bars were at least half
full when they got home from school and then after about an hour of football
(soccer, not tossing a football) they both had red bars and were approaching
energy desperation. Ridiculous!

Cheers!

Even the adults get tired quickly.

I have a lad predestined for sport and he's not the least interested. The
rest of the family kick balls into nets autonomously. He wants to win a
dance contest and won't leave the synthesizer alone. Sit him in front of
the tv sports channel and his fun level drops. If ever a sim got the wrong
hobby it's him.

On the other hand weather in Desiderata Valley seems quite extreme. A lot
of snow two winters on the trot, both with snow days off school. The
family have an exercise bike outside and use it in the snow, they get hot,
but don't overheat.Smile

There's been quite a bit of discussion of the plummeting needs - including
over at MATY. I don't know if Pescado or anyone else has posted a fix for
it though.

Best wishes

I hope someone does something soon to make it more playable..I've taken
to just dragging their motives up because it can get so
ridiculous...Pascal's little besenji, Sizi, almost doed last night...and
it was right after I had the girls feed her and take her for a walk!

It didn't plummet, just degraded a bit, whereas most sims get a lot of fun
out of watching sport on tv. Funnily enough he just got a chance card at
school about joining either the dance troupe or the gym team.

I sincerely hope someone addresses it soon. It's hugely frustrating and has
really made me not even want to bother playing for a while now. Those
"perks" to make motive decay slower actually speed it up and once you've set
them, there doesn't seem to be any way to give them back and choose
something else.

Mine seem to be working. So much so I have them not going to bed until 2 in
the morning at times.

Use the Orb, Luke... Ahem! Jeanie Smile

There's an option on there that lets you reset the secondary aspiration - it
resets the lot in my experience.

Cheers!

Pretty much the same here.

I've never used that Orb for anything. Maybe I should investigate.

I like smartmilk. Usually a parent can recover the aspiration points
they use to buy it by training the toddler (for family oriented sims,
anyway) and it gives the kid a bit of an edge in life. At one time, I
did it with all toddlers, including age transition so they would be
smart children (the effects last through that age stage if they glow
during transition). Now I just use it with some of the sims who are
more inclined to want it (family and knowledge parents).
