Archived from groups: alt>games>vga-planets (more info?)

Hello everybody,

i just updated about 2 weeks ago from my old beloved 3.51e (with ufo4vpa) to
vpa 3.62c as of those enourmous amounts of fuel i can save when flying huge
masses from one planet to another.

Anyway: Those new VPA version seems to have an annoying bug oder something
similiar:

Enemy minefields i haven't scanned the same turn (outdated for one turn) are
NOT being shown anymore, until i scan them again turn after or so.

So i have to stay with a ship uncloaked (i'm privateer) somewhere around
using minesweep to see those minefields!!!

Thats very annoying, with my old vpa + ufo4vpa i saw those old minefields
automatically decreased a little bit, marked as outdated informations!

Any hints to get those informations into the newer vpa version?

Thx in advance

Mydgard

There's one bug with the prediction, though. It won't be correct unless
you restart VPA after unpacking your turn. Before restarting accessing
existing minefields via "lay in" or "scoop from" won't show expected
results (besides the fact that phost uses another algorithm now which
differs in densly packed cases but is more realistic).

Regards,
Ingo

It's possible a bug with z-sphere, as i scanned those minefields from the
other side of the map turn before ...

Anyway found another bug grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My VPA 3.51e (with Ufo4VPA) showed me a yellow marker to my ships when they
flew through enemy minefields ...

VPA 3.62e don't! So i didn't realized this turn i moved with 4 mbrs through
minefields (an ally told me)

Any hints?

Thx

Mydgard

Forgotten to install vpa.msg or to insert a matching entry into this file?

No, i still use the vpa.msg provided inside the vpa 3.62c version i
downloaded from vpa.sourceforge.net (vpa.msg from 28.03.2005, 14.104 bytes)

Because Ufo4VPA provides vpa.msg entries like this:
| ; *** ship flying through enemy minefield
| Message Common
| Check 1,[SUBSPACE MESSAGE]
| Check 4,[have passed through]
| Check 7,[mines last turn]
| Keep Flag 14
| End
