Cute though it is to watch the little ships fly across the screen, the
timeout is something like 30s or 60s, which is short enough to drive me
totally insane. Does anyone know how I can change this? I am willing to
install an entire pascal compiler if necessary ....

ScreenSaverTime = <time in minutes> in vpa.ini, [Interface]. The default
is 5 minutes.

Disclaimer: I have just looked at the source code, I have not tried it.

Doh. It was there all along, in my VPA.INI - set to 1min.

Long time passed since I have been thought to VPA and I try to get the
up-to-date situation; I noted Tim stopped v4 programming too.

....slowly. The CVS already has a few changes against the last official
version (3.62c). My unofficial intermediate builds are on
<http://phost.de/~stefan/vpa/>.

My personal milestone for a new VPA release is when it catches up with
current PHost. It's still lacking the StarbaseCost etc options.
