| I recently installed AOE 2 on an XP box. I no longer have any military unit
commands, except for the garriosn command, available in the game. All of the
icons under each military unit have disappeared. Where I used to be able to
put groups in formation, kill unit, attack, stop, etc, there are no icons at
all, except for the garrison icon. What happened? How do I fix? I've
re-installed a couple times already to no avail...

Click on the Advanced Formations button near the mini-map. It looks like a
gear cog. This will turn them on/off. The default mode is off. That's why
when you re-installed the game they went away.

Switch on Advanced Comamnds from the button on the mini map in the lower
right hand corner.
