Post subject: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (was) Available On XBLA Today!

Hey all,
I was able to download UMK3 today around 6pm CST from XBLA. It was not
listed in the new section, but only in the normal arcade games section. It
has since been removed from XBL. The game signs you out of XBL as soon as
you start it, and won't let you sign back in until you exit from it. The
game plays well and can be adjusted to full screen for HDTV widescreen.
Some of the acheivements are terribly easy. (Get a one round flawless
against the computer, get a two hit combo on the computer) It cost 800
points.

Sounds good. Hopefully they'll put it back up soon. I really need
something to drag me away from Street Fighter 2. You can only cheap
people with Balrog and Blanka so much before it begins to lose it's
appeal. I look forward to cheap-ing those same people with Cyrax and
Shang Tsung as soon as possible! |

Damn, I would've liked to have gotten my hands on this.
Anyone know when the real release is? Next Wednesday?

Huh, surreal. I just checked on XBL (a lot of the new stuff
seems to appear at 5AM EST), and they got this game as a
Featured Download. However, while the description is there,
the dl itself isn't, nor is it listed in any of the dl areas.
Maybe it's hype for Wednesday...

I just saw it (for the first time) on Saturday evening, 6:30pm (Pacific),
and was able to download the trial version without any problems. Looks like

Yeah, I saw it a little earlier today, and not willing to
take the chance on missing it for whatever reason,

It is. I was having a great time my first night last night. Went 18-8
in the ranked area. (Mostly playing Smoke. What a cheapy he is. I
almost forgot how much.)
The game looks and plays Arcade perfect, and the lag was at a minimum.
Just how it should be. Yeah, I'll be playing this for a while.
Now, all that's left to come out for XBL is Killer Instinct and I'll be

So, you are expecting a title produced jointly between Midway and
NINTENDO to appear on XBL Arcade?

Those are just rights and legal issues that can be worked out for a
price. Rare made the game and Rare is a part of Microsoft now, so why
the hell not!?

I don't think Rare is interested in acquiring the rights to it. Rare
made it, but I believe Nintendo has the rights to the game. End
result, it stays with Nintendo, and I doubt Nintendo is looking to get
rid of it.
Anyhow, what is so great about it? You like 80 hit combos or
something?

You never know. There's no reason Nintendo wouldn't sell or lease the
rights to the two older series KI1 & KI2. But they could still hold the
rights for any new versions that could be made. I see no problem there
unless Nintendo wants to release the game on the Wii as download for
the SNES since KI1 did come out on that system. We'll see... I just
don't want to see the game die in limbo, and if we could possibly be
playing it on some system online then let's make that happen. And
quick!

Is anyone else having trouble getting classic sounds in XB.. - I have trouble when switching over to Classic mode in Konami games, getting the sounds and music to switch over to classic mode as well, such as Time Pilot and Scramble. Frogger I can do it. Anyone else see that? Any way to fix it?
Problem:Only old game in Mortal combat deception - Since I got my Mortal combat deception and I can't find anything other than the old originale version of Mortal combat. is there somekind of buttong or title that I should choose? or did they put the wrong DVD in the cover?
No Scramble today - (sigh) And that was an awesome Vectrex game. Ah well, if they're tweaking it for "quality" issues, that's fine by me. |
