I've recently been attempting to re-build my Ultima collection. I
finally managed to find and purchase Ultima III for the Apple II,
though I'm not very fond of the price I ended up having to pay for it.
Only to discover that one of the previous owners "played" on the
original players disk (instead of copying the non-protected disk and
playing on the copy.) I don't really want to pay all over again for
the entire game, without any guarantee that the same thing won't be
the case. So, was wondering if it would be permissible for me to ask
for an image of the "non-protected" player's side of the Apple II
Ultima III disk? Not the copy protected boot side, I already have
that and it works just fine. I have the means of writing an image in
..dsk format back to a floppy, but the only ones I can find, are all
altered (either hacked, or already played on.)
you can e-mail me at NOSPAMjbunt.RemoveThis@hot.rr.com (Remove the NOSPAM of
course.)
p.s. Anyone know why so many people insisted on playing on their
original disks instead of on copies? I don't know how many C=64 or
Apple II games I've purchased, where one of the owners actually cut a
notch in the disk, just so they could ruin the "original".

Just
sort of curious.
