In the original Baldur's Gate I have heard that you can get another cursed
sword from the ghost of Ulcaster by giving him 2 items. What are the items
and what do you get for them?
Also, is there any online guide that details that as well?
Thanks!

Talk to Ulcaster while carrying the Ancient Armor from the Firewine
Ruins and the Idol of Kozah from the Archaeological Site. He will swap
these for the Cursed Vampiric Sword. The Doomsayer from the
Archaeological Site must be dead for this to work.
Full complete total walk through, that will leave nothing to the
imagination, and nothing to be found or discovered on your own, can be
found here. You have been warned.

If you click walkthrough on the left it will show a map of the world,
you will have clickable areas that will bring up a map and complete
details of everything on the map.
So you can pick what you need help with and what not to get help with. >> Stay informed about: Baldurs Gate 1 - Ulcaster Area |

Holy! Thanks for the quick reply. I was expecting to have to wait a while
for a reply.
By the way, If you have done that particular quest....is the sword actually
useful? Or is it just mainly a quest that is just for fun? Not that i
consider trekking through firewine ruins particularly fun...

Vampiric Sword
To clarify its description, this sword does 7 damage to the user and
heals the opponent by 7 points.
It's a cursed sword, so no it's not worth it.
Yeah, I hate the lightning traps in the firewine, had Imoen scouting for
traps once, left the rest of the party quite a ways back, she missed a
trap, a lightning bolt killed her, bounced, went around a corner,
bounced around another corner, killed another player, bounced another
corner killed two more went down along the hall and killed the last
player and them me.
All from one lightning bolt. I hate lightning bolts in confined places. >> Stay informed about: Baldurs Gate 1 - Ulcaster Area |
