Hi all,
Lately when trying to connect to some servers, I get the message. Connection
failed 'Can't find file for package UTDCv18'
I know it's anticheat related, but what file is missing ?
Any ideas,
Thanks >> Stay informed about: UTDCv18 |

Try clearing your cache before re-connecting to the problem server.
FWIW, I clean out my cache (UT2004\Cache) fairly frequently. I just
CTL-A and delete the whole lot unless there's a custom map I want to
save. If there is a map, I use UT Cache Cleaner before deleting
everything.
If I stumble upon a server that requires me to download a few hundred
meg of their super-duper, can't-live-without-it, skins, special armor
and other worthless dross, I make sure to delete my cache immediately
and make a mental note to never visit that particular server again. >> Stay informed about: UTDCv18 |

Thanks Folk,
I should have mentionned for UT GOTY, still haven't graduated, still
sniping.
Been using Cach cleaner 3 for a good while, it happened when I decided to
visit servers I visit infrequently, no major downloads needed, mind you my
UT folder has grown over the years !
I've found since it is anti cheat related, and a few players I know are
having the same problem with that file. No cheats on my system, before you
ask.

Understood. Some server admins try to stay "ahead of the curve", so
to speak, with regards to cheat protection and early builds often have
problems. This sounds like it might fall into that category and the
best solution would be time. >> Stay informed about: UTDCv18 |

Yes, I did contact the admin, who directed me to a download site, got the
missing files, solving the problem.
