Any Linux users out there?

I've installed PCLinuxOS and am still getting to grips with it. I want
to try running UT2004 in it, so then I'm a step nearer to dumping Windows.

Is all that I need supplied on my original DVD? Any other advice
appreciated.

Been running it for years on debian. Had to copy the installer (on the
disc) over to my home dir in order to run it and mount/unmount cd's and
also had to make a link to the bin file but the last may be due to my
window mananger (blackbox). Try it and let us know what happens.

You might ping the alt.os.linux group. Theres a bunch of gamers that will
help you out. I did the exact same thing last year with Ubuntu and then
Mandriva but the drivers issues became too much of a hassle. True plug and
play is the only thing stopping Linux.

Cedega has support for UT2K4

DeadMan is something of a *nix guru. He gave the right advice.

However, a lot of different flavors of linux now don't really require the
sort of knowledege he has to install, run and maintain. They've become more
"user friendly" (I'm not sure user friendly is the right words but for lack
of better ones...)

So, anyway, Check out Cedega at http://www.transgaming.com/ . The last time
I looked at it seriously was somewhere around v.3 and they were updating it
regularly and adding support for new games all the time. Guessing by their
current web info, I would guess they are still supporting it pretty well and
you can expect support for many, many games.

Sorry, the installer (linux-installer.sh) is on the disc.
Pop the disc in and run the above file. The rest goes as
a regular windows install as I remember.

Ask back with any probs. Good luck.
