30 Last Seed

I did not find spending the night in that hammock in my Seyda Neen
house at all restful. I ended up sneaking into the Census Office
basement to nap. That was not very satisfying.

With the dawn, we headed to Vivec to do the Stop the Moon pilgrimage.
In the Hlaalu Canton Plaza, I was attacked by Almin Hellot, for no
apparent reason. Is everyone in this city crazy?

31 Last Seed

Shopping in Vivec took longer than expected. Everything in Vivec
takes longer than expected. No matter where you are, and no matter
where you are going, you cannot get from here to there without going
the long way around.

Eventually I stumbled on that woman with a dagger that was killing
foreigners. She would have killed both Constance and me except that I
was lugging around some Restore Fatigue potions I'd picked up at the
Fighter's Guild. The watch gave me a very nice Belt of Armor of God
for helping them deal with that psychopath.

As I wanted to do some of the pilgrimages in the area, one of which
made me fly all over instead of walk, I sent Constance off to Balmora
while I finished up. Back in Balmora--still drifting high--I was
accosted by two more footpads. Those dolts are everywhere. And got
the urge to meditate. Did not do too well this time.

1 Heartfire.

After cooking up some grilled meat at the Dome Home (where I could get
close enough to the fire), I headed off to find Constance. I spent
the rest of the day training in Heavy Armor to build up my endurance.

2 Heartfire

I headed off to Vivec on foot, by way of the Skulk Egg Mine so that I
could try to take care of those poachers for the Fighter's Guild. I
got to practice casting Night Eye and trying to cast Soul Trap. I did
get to kwama forager souls, and got my Mysticism up to six. I really
need to pay to train my mysticism and alchemy up some. It's just so
boring, though. I did find that the light amulet I bought worked well
for lighting enemies up. If you could see well enough to target them
effectively. Of course, it is best to save the lit up one for last as
once the target dies the spell extinguishes. Live and learn.

We met a pilgrim headed to the Fields of Kummu, so we decided to
escort her. It is a good thing for her we did as we met a couple of
thugs along the way. One was an orc with a vicious magic axe, and we
barely survivied. Of course, surviving would have been easier if
Dumner understood the words "get behind me stupid."

By the time we got to the shrine, it was dark and I was exhausted. I
plopped out my bedroll and slept right there. Alas, the shrine did
not offer more levitation spells. Did I have muck with me? I think I
did.

3 Heartfire.

As I forgot to refill my waterbag in Pelegiad, I decided to stop in
Seyda Neen. And as long as I was there--and carrying a large
assortment of healing potions--I decided to try to free Banalz, who
Sharp Claw said was captive in Addamasartus. There weren't just three
thugs there. There were ten! Six at the entrance and four more
deeper inside. Whew! That was a tough pair of fights. I did manage
to free Banalz. And Constance got a very nice pair of boots off of
one of the thieves.

Somehow, it was dark by the time we finished up. I bought some more
cooking gear at Arrille's, and was delighted to find I could get close
enough to the fire to cook omelets and grill meat at the House over
the Cavern Club. I left the skillet and grill there because they are
heavy and I am carrying way too much junk. Sharp Claw gave me a fine
Orcish Bracier as a reward.

Though it was quite dark, I decided to guide the three freed slaves to
Pelegiad, where one said there was a safehouse. I had a pretty good
suspicion where that safehouse was, too. While casting Night Eye
along the way, I got the urge to rest and meditate. Which I did as
soon as we reached the safehouse. It was a quiet place to spend the
night.

4 Heartfire

It took much of the day to reach Vivec, pick up Thalemos at the Mage's
Guild and get back to Balmora. I picked up a couple of bonemold
longbows and some nice arrows for Constance in the Foreign Quarter
with all the money we made off the footpads attacking us. We are
staggering under a load of healing potions and arrows. So I decided
to spend a while training in Medium Armor to build up my endurance
some more.

5 Heartfire.

Thalemos says we can get a ship at Ald Velothi, but doesn't know
exactly where that is. Somewhere on the northwest coast. So I went
to Dulnea at Eight Plates to ask about a guide. She gave me a few
names, including Arrathor at the South Wall. Arathor knew about the
West Gash and a few larger settlements, but could not help me with Ald
Velothi. Perhaps when I get closer I can find a guide who knows the
northwest coast.

By the time we got to Gnisis, it was well past midnight and I was
exhausted. So we spent the night at the Temple.

6 Heartfire,

I made the pilgrimage to the Mask of Justice as long as I was at the
Temple, and bought some drough's wax for the pilgrimage to Koal Cave.
Then I went looking for another guide. Hmm, I could not find a single
guide in Gnisis, nor any hint of where I might find one at the
tradehouse.

We headed off to Koal Cave, made the pilgrimage, then started
following the signs to Ald Velothi. The trip was remarkably
uneventful. Well, except for that pair of theives at the pond and the
ashlander renegades who had captured that pilgrim. We got to the ship
just before it sailed for Havish.

7 Heartfire

Havish looks very different from Morrowind. And
strangely...familiar. I have hopes of finding something to trigger my
memory. Though so far, I have not had any luck at the guilds...or
anywhere else...of any cure. A lot of people are talking about
'strange happendings'.

I spent most of the day wandering around Havish. It is a large town,
with rich merchants. I found many things I wanted. What I bought was
a fine Steel Jinxbland of the Aegis and a few magical trinkets. The
merchants have a lot of gold and a lot of nice stuff. For which they
want nice prices.

As I found no help with my memory loss, I decided to take transport
back to Balmora and catch up on my sleep. Maybe I'd have better luck
finding help elsewhere.

8 Heartfire.

Before dawn, we headed towards Ghostgate to complete the pilgrimage of
the Seven Graces. We got quite a bit of archery practice on the way,
and I managed to capture the souls of several cliff racers and a rat.
One of those daedric ruins loomed in the foyoda, but we managed to
sneak around it.

The ghostfence was staggering impressive. But I didn't get much
chance to marvel at it as three clanfear were attacking an ashlander.
Constance and I rushed to his rescue. He did not seem grateful at
first, but then decided he wanted to train with us. When we entered
the Ghostfence to complete the pilgrimage, he got frightened again and
wanted to Almisivi away. I told Julan we'd meet him in Ald'ruhn when
we were finished here. Everyone in Ghostgate seems to know him. And,
they seem to like him well enough. I guess.

Using Almsivi to leave Ghostgate seemed like a good idea, so Constance
and I poofed our way to the Temple in Ald'ruhn. And then spent most
of the night searching for Julan. We finally found him in the Ald
Skar Inn. He seems a decent fellow--but skittish. Good, maybe he
will stay-behind-me when we fight.

9 Heartfire

So long as we were in Ald'ruhn, we decided to take some time and see
the town, do a bit of shopping, and practice using Night Eye to find
our way around in the dark interiors of those shells the ashlanders
use for buildings. I also decided to start collecting those strange
letters I've been finding lying around.

We bought a few scrolls of Mark and Recall, a nice Hireling's shirt
and pants that Bivale Teneran had just gotten in, then took the silt
strider to Gnisis and back to plant that crystal seed for Valeria. By
then, it was nearly midnight, so we headed to the Mage's Guild for a
good nights rest.

10 Heartfire

I decided to try to finish one of the Temple quests, but didn't want
to tramp around the countryside forever looking for some particular
ruin. At the Ald Skar Inn, I asked where I might find a guide. I was
told to try Goras Andrelo or Baradras. Though Baradras knew of
several daedric ruins in the ashlands, Maelkashish wasn't one of
them. Nore was Ashalmawia. So we went to Balmora to see if Arathor
knew Maelkashish. He did. He took me there for 60 gold.

Unfortunately, Arathor did not bring along Julan nor Constance, and
left me alone to fight the attacking clan fear. After I killed the
clan fear, I decided I may as well deliver the cure potion. Inside, I
was promptly attacked by 5 fhieves. Or was it 6? I used up most of
my healing potions and was painfully aware that I had not set a mark
for those scrolls of league step I was carrying. After killing the
thieves and completing the quest, I Almisivied to Gnisis. I took the
silt strider back to Ald'ruhn. I'd intended to return to the South
Wall to get Julan and Constance, but they met me at the siltstrider
port in Ald'ruhn. Whew, what a day! I must pick up more healing
potions.
