Thanks for any help

Look for her every Sunday morning BEFORE 12:00PM Noon.
With other guest stars in the village you can go to Copper at the police
station & ask about.
But for Joan she'll wander randomly anywhere in the village. She can be
anywhere so don't rule out any places.

Like someone else said she's that brown boar who's always nodding & sleeping
on the train when you travel.

She WON'T leave the part of the map you found her in IF you don't talk to
her. Say you had to leave because you suddenly realized you needed more
money or something. If you see her walking around but exit that part without
talking to her she'll be there when you return.

If you talk to her already & then leave then she'll be somewhere else.

Best thing to do is get your money (or money bags if you got 'em). Your
bells & bells bags I should say. 'Cause you'll be paying a little for these
gems. And it's no guarantee that it'll pay off. But you'll usually break
even at the worse.

I usually buy a few giant bundles, some medium bundles, & some small bundles
to cover my tail. I'm a wimp with gambling OK! Gotta have my safety net. If
the turnip prices at Nook's store ain't working like I want, I can always
recover by turning in my smaller bundles to balance out. Just in case that
big payday don't work out. I'll at least break even or just a tad over.

Just make sure to visit Nook's every day after that Sunday to check the
Turnip Prices (it's under his "other things" option). And if you want to you
can travel to other towns to check their prices. Might get lucky.

Oh & if you DO let your turnips spoil accidentally by letting a whole week
go by, you can drop them at the dump & eventually you'll see little black
bugs eat them up. They'll be gone before long on that day once those bugs
get to them. A little bonus for a bad outcome. Game's full of surprises.

Sunday morning before noon, she'll be wandering around your village. You'll
recognise her as the sow who was nodding off/waking up all the time on the
train when you first arrived - I think she's always on the train whenever
you are actually.
She'll explain everything to you - just come armed with bags and bags of
cash. In a good week Nook will buy them off you at 8X the price you paid
but he doesn't buy them from you on Sundays. It helps, if Nook's being a
stingy git, to travel to another town everyday and try your luck there - BUT
if the other town is in a time a week or more (up to your next Sunday) ahead
of yours then your turnips will spoil while you are travelling with them.
Any you left in your original town will be ok though.

I find that I can usually get a good sale price from Nook in a town that I
have not bought turnips in for awhile. At least one day a week in a town
different from the one I purchased in will be a sell price of something over
500 bells EACH. So I always buy in my own town and check my other 3 towns
each day for the sale price. All of my towns are on the same day so I don't
have to worry about spoilage. If I am unable to sell them at an awesome
price, I sell them at any price in my own town on Saturday. Even if I lose
money that day, what I make on other weeks more than makes up for any one
week loss.

It took me awhile to get the hang of this, so don't give up. I now have
34,100,000 bells in the bank, on my way to 99,999,999!
