Trouble killing Inner Demon

My guild is currently working on Leotheras in SSC. We got him to about
50% on our most recent attmpt, so we're making good progress.

The few times I've gotten an Inner Demon, though, I've struggled to kill
it. Others in the raid are killing theirs with ease, but I am having
real trouble.

I play an Affliction (41/1/19) warlock, so I'm not great at burst damage.
Still, with raid buffs I have about 1100 spell damage, so it doesn't seem
like it should be this hard.

Anyone have any suggestions? Should I just be spamming Shadowbolt, or
should I throw in a few instant dots? Should I spend a few GCDs on
fear/deathcoil to avoid pushback, or just concentrate on damage?

If you're affliction specced, then I am assuming you have imp drain
health, siphon life, and unstable affliction. I'd say dot up the
target and drain tank it. I'd imagine for raids you are using your
imp and have dark pact to steal mana from him.

You might also consider, if you have them, trinkets that have a Use
effect of granting you X ammount of spell damage for a certain period
of time. Save them for these demons. The effect lasts long enough
that you can get all those dots applied and still have enough time
left to use a drain life.

You might also want to see if these mobs have some kind of shadow
resistance. Being a heavy affliction spec, you probably use more
shadow spells than fire spells. Try switching to immolate+incinerate
and see if that makes a difference. If so, then the mobs probably
have some kind of shadow resistance. I had this problem with the rock
flayers in Netherstorm and certain types of Voidwalkers in Hellfire
Peninsula.
