I don't know - but I once saw a show on tv about a woman using dog training
techniques to control her husband. It was set up like one of those nanny-cam
shows. The professional came in and gave her a task for the
day/week/whatever (say - ignore bad behaviour, reward good) and the woman
(in her secretly camera'd house had to try it out).

It seemed to work OK.

One shortcoming that I noticed was the dining room of the hotel.
There was no "order for group" option (as I think there was in
Nightlife). The adults could order in the dining room, but not kids.

I have no intention of trying it (I play nice), but I wonder...if a
kid starves on vacation, does the Social Worker come and take him/her
away?

They won't starve. Someone else will order some food and the kids will steal it, or they
can use room service to order food.

But they cannot order food in the hotel without using room service.

Maybe EA was just trying to correct a real life problem intimating that
children should be kept in the hotel room for meals or fed at the food
kiosk rather than in the dining room...one thing that irritates me is
when I spend bookoo bucks to eat at a good restaurant and the next table
ahs 2-3 misbehaved urchins lobbing peas at each lother or
screaming....my own children would have been skinned within an inch of
their life for that kind of behavior, but parents are loathe to
discipline in public...of course, EA having the sim kids steal food is
rather tacky, I think...

People who won't discipline their kids should at least not inflict them on
other people, whether in public or at family gatherings.

My kids would not have dreamt of it in private! Once we had dinner at my
MILs with SIL and BIL and their 2 kids. My nephew was always a bit of a
handful - funnily enough when I had him he wasn't - and he was messing
about. SIL said nothing, BIL muttered, nothing changed. mr kat said "SIT
DOWN". And nephew sat.

I always felt his "hyperactivity" was down to his mum and dad, but his
younger sister was ok.

I don't think that's the reason. The kids can order the food via room service, but they
can eat it in the dining room and they often do.

Where I live, disipline anywhere is impossible as there isn't much the parents can do
except ask them to behave, you can't even slap them and the kids know it.

Nope. I tried it and he just would NOT stop sleeping on the furniture!

Does the Mind Control Mirror work? (I think it's Merola's, but I'm not
sure.) I've always used it before and it works very well. You can select
anyone on the lot, even NPCs, and they'll do whatever you tell them to do. I
haven't tried it with Seasons or BV yet though.

Okay, I used it on Twiiki Island and selected one of the other guests at the
hotel and it worked fine. I also used Merola's Multi-painting and the No
Strays sign and they worked too.
