Tomb Raider Anniversary is coming to the Mac in 2008, courtesy of Feral
Interactive. The company announced plans to release a Macintosh version of
Tomb Raider Anniversary today, and has made it available for pre-order from
there website.

Tomb Raider Anniversary takes Lara Croft back to the places where it all
began, only this time with gorgeous graphics, massive puzzles, and a new
fluid movement set that make this Tomb Raider the most acrobatic we've ever
seen.

Join Lara as she travels through caves, valleys, and temples in Peru, Egypt
and Greece on the hunt for The Scion, an ancient artefact of mysterious
power... with more than a few unwelcome parties trying their best to stop
you.

Tomb Raider Annivesary is the first game to appear on the Mac in a few
years. The game series was originally brought to the Macintosh by Aspyr
Media.

The Mac system requirements indicate that Tomb Raider Anniversary for

Petra (wherever he is) would be very very happy. Smile

No dual vid-card support tho. Me wonders if that technology will go the way
of the beta-max.

Does TRA for PC even support multi-threading, or is one (or more)
processor(s) basically just twiddling its thumbs?

Where is TRA *.ini file for "tweaking", or is this even possible?

Hmmm...What's this?

Something about Lara...

Written in Portuguese...

With an address to Pirate of the Caribbean

If this is trolling then it's mighty selective trolling.

But what does that have to do with me or a Macintosh?

<sigh>

To post or not to post.

Well if I'm typing then I must be doing something *important* in the office
and cannot be asked to help out with household chores or work of any kind.
Let's keep typing!

"Jekispeor", (can I call you "Jeki") I think on-line translators still have
a ways to go. Pasting your text resulted in the following: "I put Lara in
the Easter basket for Christmas."

OK, it wasn't *that* bad, but until I can get hold of someone who actually
speaks Portuguese... The translation made very little sense.

But thanks for posting BTW-- this is a wonderful way to spend some time on a
lazy Sunday afternoon! Smile

You should *not* be encouraging me tho. : 0 !

Googled "doque"-- a word that stumped the e-translators. Best match was
(Cached.) "No definition for [doque]. Refine your search terms. (Latin.)
quan+doque. adv. 'one time or another'."

I'm afraid this is the best I could come up with in rearranging/substituting
some of the words.

"Jeki" may have typed:

"Lara dream with you every night. You don't know me, but at one time or
another I have known about you. Here's an addy-- pirate_of_ caib."

Well, if that's true then there's no time like the present to inroduce
yourself! Smile

Best way to get in touch is via the college addy. (Assuming you are "legit"
and not trolling.)

I can't "send" from it (for academic purposes only) But I can reply--
assuming I ever actually see it. Don't attach or embed anything or I think
it will get zapped.

But Lara as a pirate... Hmmmm... *That* has potential.

<warming up to it now>

In fact, it's a GREAT idea!

Yee ha! Haven't blitzkrieg typed in a long time. Spelling be damned.

Thanks "Jeki" (although the group is probably rolling thier eyes and
groaning at this point.)

--------
Lara & The Golden Relic-- Part One (the beginning!)
--------

Another beautiful and resplendent day in the sparkling blue waters off the
Spanish Main.

Lara leaned into the thick oaken railing of the Portuguese Man O' War she'd
hired out.

"Give'em another shot o' grape boys!" She yelled, shielding her eyes against
the thick white smoke of canon fire. As they neared the fat Spanish galleon
that was their target, Lara took out her grapple hook and began swinging it
like a sling.

The stricken galleon rolled and lumbered in the calm seas. Its once proud
white sails were now shredded into so many old deck rags. Even as Lara
watched-- the main mast came splintering down with a crack! Spanish sailors
flailed in the air as they jumped off the ship to take their chances with
the sea.

They were giving up!

"Remember" Lara sternly reminded the boarding party. "I want The Golden
Relic BEFORE the Spanish have the chance to melt it down into pieces of
eight!"

But once aboard the Spanish ship the leader of the pirates sheepishly
approached Lara.

"Eeez not heer Meez Croft. We search every wheeer!"

Lara rounded on him, fists on her hips-- ready to instantly draw the two
pistols she always kept at her side.

"What! Why that's not possible!" She stamped her foot and was about to order
the men to keep searching.

When another ship appeared on the horizon... Sleek by the look of her-- and
fast!

The FRENCH! Of course the hated French would also have pirates in these
waters.

Meanwhile aboard the French vessel, two Cajuns were whooping it up with some
Jamaican rum they'd found.

"What you say boy! This a BIG jon-boat we got ourselves now! This
fore-shore-yes!"

The other Cajun scratched his head looking puzzled.

"But Catfish-- how we gonna get this boat up the bayou? It too deep in the
water!"

The Cajun who'd been drinking rubbed his chin, deep in thought. After a time
he seemed to come to a conclusion.

"Them boxes. They too heavy and the crew-- they lie to us about treasure.
You see any muskrat hides down there?"

"Nah! Juss a bunch of gold stuff. They think we dumb enough to believe
anybody put that much gold in a sailboat? We dumb but we not stoopid eh?"

"That fore-shore-yes!" Catfish replied. "Come on. We start dumpin' them fake
statues an' get this boat light enough to pole back up the bayou."

So the two Cajuns dumped crate after crate of priceless gold artifacts over
the side of the French pirate ship. Including The Golden Relic that Lara was
after!

Back aboard the Man O' War, the Portuguese captain handed Lara his brass
trimmed wooden spyglass.

"Two of the French are dumping the treasure into the sea meez Croft. They
see us and might be making a run for it. I am sorry, but they are too fast
for us."

"Bloody French!" Lara spat after she'd seen enough. She slid the telescoping
ends of the spyglass back together and handed it back to the captain.

"And I was so close." she said bitterly. "Those French Acadians aren't as
stupid as they'd have us believe. They know I can't get to The Golden Relic
down there on the sea floor. Not in this age anyway."

She wheeled around-- long ponytail whirling with her-- to address a man
operating a complex looking piece of machinery on the quarterdeck.

"Get that time machine set!" Lara barked.

The sailor who was handling the machine asked.

"When should I set it for it for Meez Croft?"

"South Louisiana. AD 2008!" Lara replied.

The man made the sign of the cross.

"Santa Maria! 2008? Jesu save us from this place called America before
then!"

Lara shrugged and said with a wry smile.

"Yes, heavens help us from those Yanks. And Cajuns in particular!"

---------
The End
---------

Tune in next week when Pinetree and Catfish ponder:

"Why you think the crew all jumped off the boat when we started playin' the
zydeco music?"

"Sometime I think you touched in the head Pinetree. The crew-- They *like*
accordion music. They go swimmin' is all. Why else you think they all jump
off a good jon-boat?"

"Yeah. A shame the wind-- it pick up an' blow us away from the crew when
they swimmin'. I kind of miss them, but hey! We got us a BIG jon-boat now!
Biggest in de parish! Biggest in all Louisiana!"

"What you say boy! Good thing we dump all dat fake gold overboard!"

"Yeah! An' people-- they say we dumb. They don't no nothin'-- they don't
even speak French!"

"Oh, that fore-shore-yes mon ami! What you say hah? Meantime I jus gonna
stretch out here an' enjoy de sunshine!"

"Yeah, dat a good idea. Hand me the rum there Cajun! Jus lay out in de
sunshine! Too much *work* dumping all that treasure gold."
