This deck is really simple. It's the deck i use to teach new players
how to play. Take out the biggest vamp you get in uncontrolled no
matter what. It always has to be the biggest as he will take out the
rest of the crypt at a cheap pool price. Govern down, govern down,
scout down and let the rest of the table get low on pool. Deflect some
bleeds and when the prey is tapped out just bleed him out. It doesn't
seem to have enough punch but it kills when needed. Just try it

Okay, thanks. In terms of trying it myself, I don't that would work in
my metagame, since "Govern down without stealth" is an action that
frequently gets blocked, and there's no real combat in here to
dissuade anyone from trying to block it. But I can see how that could
work if no one was blocking you - that was the piece of information I
was wondering about.
Thanks for the info, and congratulations on the tournament win!

The trick is to get the blockers look to other side thinking another
one is their real trouble. There was a lot of intercept in the
tournament but i only go blocked once while using govern down. If your
prey is the wall just get low on pool and let him think the governs
down are for transfering back

I like the basic elegance of this design, but it would die here in
Ithaca, where maniacs run around pulling off heads and separating
souls from bodies. I presume there was very little combat or mess-
with-vampires tech at the tournament? Or were you able to convince
them you were harmless? The strategy behind this deck is intriguing;
I would be interested in hearing about the final table.
My only question is, why no Seductions?
Cheers,
John

If you're able to convince a blocky predator that he should allow you
to take a +1 stealth undirected action that gains you pool even though
you've got no combat to deter such a block, more power to you. My
table talk skills aren't nearly that well-developed.

Like I said, I'm envious that you can pull this kind of thing off...

I agree. My wall-y prey rarely lets me do stuff like that more than
once, unless I have a super-aggressive predator, and if i do I am
bouncing bleeds to the wall!
I'm not sure how you convince other players that your Dominate deck is
just going to sit there and "innocently" bloat for most of the game.

If your metagame is is full of headhunters you can take out bounce and
put more fortitude card in. I've run this deck with 11 fortitude
cards. Superior Mettle for POT metagame and Rolling for CEL. My wall
prey will nearly always let me govern cown to let me live if i don't
bleed him and take pool back to survive. It's all about your
conviction powers
In the final game my prey was another !Ventrue with a samller crypt,
then a Tremere toolbox with lots of bounce, then Malk Bleed Stealth,
then Setites Bloat and me.
I managed to give pool to my predator with Owain and Vessels long
enough to get a hand full of deflections. When he died i deflected to
my prey who deflected backwards, i deflected forwad twice more and
tapped him because of his inferior dom and bled him to dead. The
tremere was a lot harder to take down as he had like 5 minions and 18
pool. With his deflections and my +1 strength guys i managed to take
down 2 of the malks minions as he had to block me. Eventually the
tremere run forward leaving just Carna and Hannigan untaped. Hannigan
was taken by kiss of ra and i let Carna block one of my minions. Then
killed him. The malkavian was easy as i played pentex subversion on
his only ready minion and bleed him out.

Just to make myself totally clear: My questions in this thread weren't
in any way meant to disparage the deck or the player who won with it.
I don't argue with results.
I do see a lot of tournament-winning decks get posted here which I
can't imagine winning any games, let alone tournaments. When I see
those, I like to ask about the details of that tournament and the
person playing the deck, to see if the holes in my knowledge can be
filled. No disrespect intended.

The best way to know how a deck wins is to try it and this is a good
deck to do it as it is mostly made of common cards and the rares can
be replaced easily
