Hello everyone,
I'm in the market for a new tv (budget is about $2,000). I mostly
play Halo 2 on Live with some movies and sports thrown in. I would be
interested in any opions on any models to check our or any that I
should stay away from. I did check out a Samsung DLP (I forget what
model) but there was a noticable lag. Any opions would be very much
appriciated.

DLPs only noticeably lag if you're feeding it interlaced SDTV, as it has to
deinterlace (minimum 1/60th second) then scale. since most xbox1 games run
progressively, the lag inherent in deinterlacing is eliminated. scaling
takes some time, but is very fast compared to deinterlacing, so you'll only
see lag if you've not got progressive output enabled on your xbox. if you
ever plan on getting a 360, DLPs run natively at 720p , meaning no scaling
and no deinterlacing, meaning 0 lag. most LCDs run at some odd resolution
(1366x768) and will still have to scale the input. my advice? get a DLP. >> Stay informed about: Best TV for XBOX / XBOX Live |

Agreed. Go with a DLP. They can be great for gaming.
