I downloaded the demo (to make sure the game would work before I bought it).
It doesn't work. The Radeon 9000 is not listed as "supported".

Is there any way to make it work?
What does it mean: "Failed to initialize Direc3D with current settings."

Minimum on DVD case is shown as nVidia 6800, ATI X1600+, which I guess is
two generations newer than your card?

Might have to try it on my laptop, which is X700.

TR Anniversary worked fine ... a bit of stuttering at scene changes, but
otherwise fine.

Anniversary's minimum requirements were GeForce 3Ti or Radeon 9 series. I
don't know much about the ATI range, but the GeForce 3Ti is much further
down the scale than the 6800 card for Underworld.

Timewise, the GF 3 series is about parr with the original Radeon series, the
Radeon 7000. At the time AoD was coming out, DX9 was top end graphics. The
GF 3 Ti series was old history by then with DX7, replaced by the GF4 Ti 4xxx
series for DX8, then the FX 5xxx series for (partial) DX9 capability. The
Radeon 8xxx series is the DX8 and Radeon 9xxx series the DX9. I started off
TR Legend with a GF 6800 and feel that series was minimal for Legend. The
GF 6xxx series was the first nVidia cards with full DX9 compatibility.
Legend, Anniversary and Underworld are all DX9.0c games, which is the latest
available for XP. Vista is DX10 supposedly. Smile

I don't know. On the ATI side the 9000 is the lowest spec card that will
work. Which tells me that everything concerning it should be up to date.
DX 9.0c and Catalyst drivers. The error you showed makes me think
definitely DX error. Did Underworld do an update to DX9 when you installed
it?
