Yeah! That worked. You're right: I wasn't continuing to hold the targeting
button.
So. I can DO it now -- but I STILL say it sucks. The Centaur battle is way
too complex for a game that's supposed to be heavy on the adventuring and
light on the shooter-skills. I used a combo. approach: I sat it out in the
switch cave until one died and the other stopped fire-balling; then I went
up and finished off that last one doing the shield thing.
Cool. Past it. That's all I care about for now.
NEXT time, I start the game in EASY mode.
And by the way. As I recall, in Legend, I could select a difficulty every
time a new level started. I don't see that in TRA. If you Replay Level,
you can choose -- but you have to have FINISHED it once to replay it.
Actually, it appears to be worse than that. It looks like you can only
replay levels that are in an area of the world that you've already
completed. That is, the game only offered me the Peru levels to replay --
even though I was almost done with the Grecian levels -- none of the Grecian
levels were available for replay until I finished Tomb of Tihocan. So, more
suckage; you apparently can't change the difficulty level during a
play-through; you're stuck with what you first selected at the beginning of
the game. Is that true? Anyone know a way around that? I'm not starting
over now.
But at least I'm beyond the Centaurs.
Thanks, Mary (and the others who helped, too).
