After last week's screamer of a bash, I can't help but to try for the
same again this week - Especially since this looks like the last
opportunity we'll all get this year before most will be too busy with
festive family gatherings, mince pies, brandy and wine.
So lets say an early farewell to 2007 in some control-point-grabbing,
intelligence-stealing style this Sunday at 9pm GMT - Especially those
who were unable to come along last week, or didn't get the message in time!
Anyone who hasn't done so already, feel free to join the aghl Steam
group at http://steamcommunity.com/groups/aghl - as before, I'll make
sure the server details are listed on the group's Event blog, and
There'll likely be a congregation in the Steam group's chatroom just
before too. Although, everyone should also be able to get the server
info from me directly, if they prefer.
- My steamID again, is my email address: bench RemoveThis @bench333.screaming.net
I hope everyone who turned up last week can make it again. We'll be
trying for an empty public server as before, but, public servers have
the tendency to fill out after a while. Nevertheless, we managed 2
solid hours of fun last week, so if you can't make it as early as 9pm,
its still worth trying to get on later!
Lets make it a good one! See you on Sunday!

I just got the Monkey Pen invite. I don't have TF2 on my desktop (just
Xbox360), are you going to be doing any non-TF2 bashes. I guess I could
just buy TF2, but the price for just TF2 is just wrong. If it were
$19.99 I'd do it without thinking. At $29.99 I have to ponder a bit.
Maybe I could convince you guys to buy Xbox 360's?
What am I talking about? I've got a physics final on Monday morning, no
time for games.

I'd take a hell of alot of convincing on the Xbox front
I'm somewhat surprised that CF hasn't resurfaced to kickstart a
Santa-vs-Jesus DM bash (As seems to be traditional this time of year)..
though there's still time
I sure would be up for a bash in a different game sometime - I'm open to
suggestions if everyone feels bored of TF2 after this week

Nope... Last time I set up a HLDM no one showed up and the feedback
seemed to be that no one was interested in it anymore... After that I
deleted all my HLDM maps and models... Bah humbug!!!

Ah, I Lost count of the number of times I jumped off the 2fort balcony,
shot up by Lief at the other end of the map. and he told us all that he
sucked at TF ..pff! Although Johnny_Ace showed us all that he hadn't
lost his touch as a scout, bringing home the intelligence in one of the
most frantic rounds of 2Fort I can remember
All-in-all a areat night! I had a blast as a medic on Dustbowl, with
various members of the Phat clan as my bodyguards; at least, til the
other team got wise to killing the medic first - I noticed Vis was up to
his tricks with the bonesaw again too.
Thanks again to HighVis, Johnny_Ace, Jethro (And Phat clan), Carl, Rat,
Sloth, Nephilem, Lief, Jimbob and everyone else who turned up to
yesterday's bash! brilliant turnout again, 2 hours of solid TF2
goodness for those who stayed the course
I got lagged right at the end of the night, spiking to some ping
which made Jethro's old 28.3k 'fossil' look good - so I gave up after
Granary; The game had virtually frozen up, which is when I realised i'd
hit the end of the night - apologies for the slightly abrupt departure
there (Blame NTL!).
It looks like the next couple of weekends are going to be busy for
everyone (myself included), so I'll probably be unable to join in any
bashes til the new year; though I absolutely positively encourage
someone else to grab the torch if they feel up to it - If not, I hope to
be able to drum up interest in another outing to kickstart 2008 in
January

good on yer Ben..had another great game thanks. Was able to stay longer
this time due to no unexpected company this weekend but I still seem to
have the problem of my pc shutting down which would explain my abrupt
departure from time to time. Only happens whilst playing TF2!
