TECH: asteroids wells gardner V2000 monitor things "dissap..

Hello all,

one person posted this same problem in 2005 and they never posted the
solution. my game is doign the same exact thing below. the main board
in the game is fine as i swapped it out with another one and the same
problem exists:
i recapped the deflection board and went over all solder joints as
well.
here is whats going on:


It's a weird display problem. Here are the situations where I see the
weird
behavior.


1. Everytime I start a game the right half of the letter "R" and all
of the of
'Player 1' disappears until the asteroids show up and i start playing.
when you "die" it does this again.

2. while playing the game, the ship disappears for a few
seconds then reappears again in whatever spot you left it at (not
hyperspace either). At the same time the right half of the line
"Atari 1979", at the
bottom of the screen will disappear for a few seconds.

3. also, when the ship disappears and there are only a few small
asteroids left, the asteroids will dissapear as well. they do not
dissapear simultaneously always thow. also, at any time when the ufo
comes on the screen, the ship and asteroids always come back thow
even if they were dissapeared.

also, when those items dissapear, the spot killer comes "on" on the
deflection board.

IMPORTANT: the score and the ufo's never dissapear at all.


once again, The screen never completely goes blank. The score and
ufo's never disappear.
