Even though I have the No-CD patch on my Thief2.exe and it works fine, when I
startup T2X.exe, it asks for the cd. I click OK to get rid of the message (the
T2X loader is still open), then startup Thief2.exe, I can play T2X without a CD.

I noticed that when you starup T2X.exe, it copies the darkhooks.dlx and the
strings directory from the T2X directory into the Thief2 directory. When you
close T2X.exe, they get deleted. I tried manually copying those files into the
Thief2 directory and starting Thief2.exe (without starting T2X.exe) and I still
get classic Thief2. What else does the T2X loader do?

Maybe it would be possible for the current developer of DarkLoader to copy the
proper T2X files over (when the user wants to play T2X) and start Thief2.exe
without the need to start the T2X loader?

Also, I have thief installed on 3 computers at home (all on a home network). It
would be nice if I could define where to store the saved games in DarkLoader (say
on a shared drive like where I have the FM's). That way I could go to any
computer and resume playing a saved game. I know I would have to unload the
mission to get it to zip up the saved games but that's a minor issue.

I believe it should be possible to install darkloader on a network drive
and point all your machines to this. You might have to install it on each
machine but pointing to the same folder on your shared drive.
Alternatively it might be possible to just create a shortcut to darkloader
on every machine, or open it via 'Network Locations' or whatever it's
called in your version of Win.
