Well, finally upgraded my video card to a 6200 le 256 meg 4x card.
Been playing Dark Messiah or at least trying to. Added patch 1.01 and
patch 1.02 and it still stutters and locks up.
I am on level 3, but haven't attained the lockpicking skill yet.
Similar to Thief if you like the stealth mode.

I believe this game (or one at least of the newest games, ah it was Gothic3)
has serious default settings problems not addressed by the patches. Anyway
I suggest you check tweak sites like tweakguides.com for settings to
increase framerate.

I also suggest that a 6200 card is very low-end nowadays, and if you bought
that I'd suspect you have less than 1gig of ram also. 1.5gig of ram is
almost a minimum for the newest games to run without loading pauses or
stuttering.

I bout the 6200 because my current motherboard will only handle agp
4x, I know PCI-E is the newest out there. Also, I do have 1 gig of ram,
but will check out the tweak guide.

Financially is not a problem. I just don't want to go through the
hassle of having another outdated computer or parts laying around. My
2.8 Ghz, 1 Gig Ram, and now a 256 meg video card is almost sufficient.
I see the 7600GT is a PCI-E card. That would mean replacing the
motherboard, ram, audio card, etc.
