Hey when I play AOE3 on my Win XP system, it causes the whole system to
restart at some random point in the game. It usually occurs after at least
20 mins of play. I was wondering what might be causing it to do this and
what I could do about it. This is not an issue when playing other games.

Hi MR EDDD,

Your system is most likely restarting as a result of a STOP error.

To stop this behavior go to Control Panel / System / Advanced /
Click the Startup and Recovery Settings button / Uncheck the box
labelled "Automatically restart" under the System Failure section.

To analyze the error, try the steps in: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers

Hi,

I also encountered this STOP from time to time, occurred in both XP and
Vista.
It did not say about the file.

HI,

I agree with jimmy it is because of a stop error code comming up, if
unchecking the Automatically restart is not also not working pls check in
event viewer you will fing the name to the program causing it with other
details which may help in dealing with this .
