Has any of you tried flying from Sydney to Melbourne?

I tried a couple of times now - but never arrived!

Take-off from Sydney is spectacular - almost as being there yourself - but
the flight controllers must be "less skilled". Consistently they send me at
course 150 (which - if I wait long enough - will take me to South Pole!). It
happened several times now.

And trying to reach Melbourne just makes FS9 to simply close down - no
warning - just simply crashing!

Has anybody experienced this crash before? It must be possible to fly from
Sydney to Melbourne - I tried it myself in RL!

regards
Drus

Default scenery?

What plane and thus what altitude for cruise?

What stage of the flight does FS9 crash?

Cheers

The Melbourne skies have been closed since the Commonwealth Games. Too many
athletes decided not to leave! As a result, we're full, so we've put up a
special force field that sends away all aircraft. Unfortunately, it causes
FS9 to hemmorage, and you must re-boot.
Smile
Seriously, I fly Melbourne to Sydney about 5 times a week in FS9. Never had
a problem. Only doen it a few times the other way, but it's always been
fine. Have you tried going from Melbourne to Sydney?

I did the flight and I got only a hick-up due to loading terrain, which was
strange for me, after passing Shellys 353.0 SLS. The flight was Oke.

Sorry for not being specific enough!

By the way - I am in no way related to Melbourne Tourist Bureau -
unfortunately, because it's a lovely place on earth!

I am flying an MD-80 - do not remeber the origing, but I have never had any
problems with it anywhere else. Maybe Aussies are not used to seeing
MD-80's? How would it get there in the first place? Australia is quite far
way from the rest of the world (or is it the opposite?) and maybe out of
range. But if you like flying commercial jets (or would like to try - try
this one from Aerolineas Argentina. It flies like a dream and is very easy
to control - highly recommended.

It happened several times, in different cruise levels - last time was
cruising at FL 300. I have the Abacus World Landscapes installed - but
again never had any problems anywhere else.

The funny thing is, that ATC sends me in heading 150, which will never take
me to Melbourne but more likely somewhere in Antarctica - and thats too dam
cold for me though I am Danish.

If anybody tries Sydney-Melbourne pleas elet me know if you experience the
same flight controller (with very little skills in geography!).

Think I will try the same trip with a default 737!

Regards
Drus

Soon after I got FS2002 I tried a Sydney - Melbourne flight in the
default 737 and I also was vectored out of Sydney on a course of about
150º which I abandoned after ~100nm. I have no explanation for this,
but obviously there is a glitch in FS2002 and 2004 which occurs
occasionally.
