I feel as though I'm always doing it and yet it never gets done.

Unfortunately, Acme, Inc's Instant Hole and house-elves don't exist
and robots haven't been invented yet.

(except for Irobot's Roomba vaccuum and Scooba floorwasher, both of
which I've used and work great.)

Check this out (found at Amazon.com). I know people who swear by this
book.

Sink Reflections: Overwhelmed? Disorganized? Living in Chaos? The
FlyLady's Simple FLYing Lessons Will Show You How to Get Your Home and
Your Life in Order--and It All Starts with Shining Your Sink! by Marla
Cilley (Paperback - Oct 1, 2002)
Buy new: $15.00 $9.45

I believe she also has a website. Do a Google search on "flylady."

I think that Fly Lady person is mad and scary. Honestly, I couldn't be
bothered being that organised.

Best wishes

I am a virgo (clean freak), but due to my age and disabilities I can
no longer put in the time or effort to keep house as I did when I was
younger and healthier.
Now I am a proud and HAPPY flybaby, because a few routines help keep
my house a calm, clean retreat with much less effort. Things seem to
clean themselves.
Don't knock it till you try it.

Well, I'm glad it works for you but I have looked at the site and I still
say she is mad and scary. I certainly don't want to live that way.

Best wishes

I think 'routines' is the operative word there.
I am a Leo, but heavilly overlaid with Gemini and with Virgo rising. This
means I see the mess, feel guilty about it, but can always find better
things to do with my time than attack the housework.
This means I see the mess, feel guilty about it, but...

For some strange reason I feel envious of anyone who can get 'practically'
organised (rather than mentally). I desire it, but cannot attain it.
But that woman does give me the creeps. It's her presentation, I think.
Perhaps she should have two books/web sites. One not so gushy? I dunno.
I NEVER let my Sims make a mess. It's the only control I have. POWER!

I don't know what kind of kitchen sink she has but never ever let bleach
sit in a stainless steel sink....blah. Not to mention steel wool? This
woman wants to rust your sink away so you don't need to ever clean it
again. You want to clean a sink. Get stainless steel cleaner then coat
the sink with a good car polish, polish by hand or you can use an
electric device (just make sure not to turn the water on else you'll end
up like some of our simmies). You can do the same with tile in the
bathtub. Use one of those car cleaner goopy stuff to clean (using an
electric polisher makes it easier) then polish it up with the car polish
to keep the crud from sticking. Now all this is for those who want to
clean...me blah, rather play simmies.

I didn't have a clue what you guys were talking about so I googled
"flybaby". Assuming you aren't talking about the hovercraft..... <g>

Ye Gods! This sounds like the maniacal "method" they tried to teach 35
years ago when I took Home Ec! I can honestly say that I do not give a
flying f- , uh, /baby/ whether my kitchen sink shines or not. There is no
point to intense housekeeping. Whatever you do today, you will have to turn
around and do again tomorrow. Is that how I want to spend my precious
lifetime? NO! You can fight it all your life, honey, but guess what? When
you die, they are going to bury you in DIRT. Why fight it? Life is too
short to worry about whether they can eat off my floor. The dogs eat off
the floor. Keeps me from having to sweep under the table, that does. As
long as there is food in the pantry and freezer clean panties in everyone's
dresser drawer, enough clean socks in the basket to make a suitable pair,
and the garbage isn't stacked on top of the trash can all the way to the
ceiling, I say that's good enough. I keep a path clear to both doors so
emergency personnel could get in if they needed to. There is always another
book to be read or chapter in my sim's story to be told. That is FAR more
important to me than a spotless house!
