In theory it's there already, at least I've got an email saying my copy
has shipped.

Hmmm...didn't see it in three stores I poked my head into over the w/e, so
you may have gotten lucky pre-ordering it online. Let us know if it's as
good as its promise.

Thanks all for replying. I post this incident because I think the price they
asked for is really insane. However, I'm happy to say that the game is still
pretty playable without purchasing those uber items. Some good souls posted
some guide about how to craft AAA grade "ultimate" equipments without
needing to buy those insanely priced items, in the forum. The process is
hard and tedious, but hey, that's what people are looking for, right? The
satisfaction of getting what you wanted after some hard working. The method
requires lots of in game gold and resources for crafting, but not
un-achievable, so I'll be sticking to the game for a while more.

Not including the Jennifer Love Hewitt online peepshow of course. I'd pay
per article of clothing for that one. Big time. Smile

Yes, but I was never able to get into it.

Heh, has a game engine ever been so completely and utterly abused?

Sure do. Elite was my favorite game of all time on my trusty ZX Spectrum,
though, even with that (obviously intended) flaw.

Not sure I'd still appreciate it, though. Tastes do change over a
20-year period.

Now there's a good question that simply has me boggled. Was there, or wastn't
there, a C=64 version of Elite? That's what I started out with, in '86.
Transition to Amigas some time between '89 and '91 -- I simply cannot remember.
Favourite games at the time: Reach for the Stars, Warlords, Elite and
Mercenary. Later, on the Amiga, I also started in on crpg, namely Wizardry
(Bane) and Might and Magic III.

Hmmm...sounds to me just like a reload back to start of level job, swap out
lightning for fireball (or whichever) & re-run level...? I think they
intentionally made the game so you can exchange like for like items at no
extra cost & so levels will be re-done (ala GW to some extent).

S'ok, from what you describe, DS is a far more fun game that POR2 could ever
be, purist D&D issue aside. For $5 I've already got my money's worth, even
if I stop now after just a couple levels/zones (there's only about 10 in the
game anyway I believe?).
