Sometimes I just shake my head in wonder....and ask myself rhetorical
questions like? Why would anyone recolour one stove 25 times? or
anything else for that matter? Looking at other's creations and people's
urge to share with the world is interesting...and I ask myself the "why"
question a lot! What do you look at on SIMS sites and ask "Why" about?

Oh I agree about the why would anyone want 20 odd recolours of the toaster
oven - I have none. Mind you, I don't have the CEP either. I guess it
depends how you play - I often think why? about all those anime characters
but presumably some people like them. And then all the stuff in bad taste
and some horribly made stuff - but taste is subjective and, if you're just
starting out, you have to start somewhere. I made some horrible things
early on in fact, probably not a lot better now since I don't do it often
(practice makes perfect). I guess the main thing that annoys me and makes
me ask the why question is paysites. Why do you expect me to pay for that?
Donations to help with bandwidth I'm ok with but selling sims stuff I'm not.

Best wishes
maxon

Oh, I learned my lesson on that one! Paid for a subscription on TSR for
the shorest term and found that half the stuff I wanted that was
subscriber only could be found free elsewhere! Besdies, donating to
non-pay sites is a testament to their worth...two of my favorites that I
will donate to in the future are Parsimonious SIMS and Aussie
Topenders...there is also a French site I have bookmarked somewhere that
has lovely, lovely things. I don't mind the anime figures...they work
ok with what I'm doing so I have Beauty and the Beast and a bunch iof
the other Disney ones...and I have a couple of silly ones from some RPG
game that I turned into fairies...they worked out quite well..Lyssa
Dimpledown is Beauty...for some reason, that anime just looks like a
Lyssa Dimpledown...
Another Why? Monchromatic rooms...I saw this more with the SIMS 1 than
now but there are still some people out there doing it...a room in 15
shades of burnt sienna...or 13 shaed of green....no contrast
whatsoever...makes me whoozy looking at them...(Disclaimer: if you are a
person who likes monchromatic color schemes, I apologize for dissing
you...it's just not within my psyche to understand...)

I try not to do things that would have me arrested ort thrown into the
loony bin...my granddaughters run around like that but they are 13 and
15 ( and are often sent back to their rooms to re=apply different
clothing...) A lot of the SIMS 2 clothing is really form fitting...like
everyone's wearing clothes a size or two smaller than they should...I
guess they pattern it after the current "bad girl" list like Paris
Hilton (she must feel like she's swimming inside her prison garb),
Nicole Ritchie, and Lyndsey Lohan...personally, I think all their
mother's need a smack in the head for encouragin their daughters to look
that way, but hey, I'm just a middle-class, Midwest Grandma type...what
do I know?

I always ask "why pay?"

The only recolours I collect are bedspreads and curtains. I collect them
avidly and there are lots of good free sites for those.

I agree about pay sites but I was always under the impression that the
reason they charged was to keep the site open and the ones who paid would be
able to download faster etc etc but maybe I was just not smart enough to
figure out the real reason. LOL

I think that's how it started back in Sims 1 days but it's been a long while
since some 'creators' (and let's not overstate what they do here) simply
open up shop as a lucrative sideline. Some sites even charge per download.
