Supreme Commander sound problem

Hi there,

It took a while before i figured out how to use this communtiy network...

Anyway: I bought Supreme Commander (supcom) a pretty long while ago and it
runs perfectly well, except for one thing:

There is no sound at all!

I'm running vista home premium and i meet the minimum system requirements.
I tried dxdiag, turning up the volume, played in a lot of different sound
settings, headphones and combinations of those, but nothing seems to work.

(And please don't ask me update my drivers or buy a new sound card, because
i do update my drivers and i'm on a laptop, so no new sound card for me.)

Any help would be appreciated.
