After taking 3 toons to 60 (rogue, hunter, druid) on PvE, I am thinking
about trying a PvP server for some new challanges. What is considered the
'easiest' character to play on PvP server? I never even dualed on PvE so
PvP will be a very new experience. I know I am in for a lot of L60 on L20
ganking, so I want my first toon to be as easy as possible till I learn the
ropes.
Thanks! >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

Since you've already done rogue and hunter...
Warlock or mage are both good at pvp. Shaman too. Only thing is the
mana bar, if you dont mind playing a caster then have at er. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

Paladin - takes 3 times as long to be killed, plenty of time to run
away or get over being ambush
Hunter - BM, cause while you kite your opponent, your pet nick & dime
him away - watchout for the night elf who aimed in shadowmeld mode with
stealth pet
Warlock - same as hunter, cause you got an extra warm body to help
As you getting familiar/comfortable with PvP, you probably can then
move on to other classes that's more your liking.

A Warlock would be my suggestion.
Paladins can outlive, but that just helps them run away. Their Tier 1
gear includes a reduction in the hearthstone cooldown. Not really.
That's just a funny, but cruel, jab at them.
Warlock's can really put out some DPS, byt they can also do the Fear
thing, and they've got the Succubus which helps counter a Rogues
stealth attack. (The Rogue attacks, the Succubus seduces, you get some
distance and regroup.) (And the Felhunter to counter the casters. And
the voidwalker to tank for you. And and and.)
Some folks mention Shadow Priests. But you're going to have to respec
end-game (99% chance of being required by your raiding guild) if you go
that route. Shadow to level up, and then you're going to heal your
Holy brains out.
Druids and Rogues have the stealth thing going for them. But you've
already played both of those.
Mages have got the DPS (too), but I think the Warlock, what with the
minion thing and your experience already as a Hunter, would be the
route to go.

Id say rogue the 'easiest' for surviving and damn good for pvp with
blind/vanish/sprint your hard to tie down.
On a pvp server they are great for 'getting the first strike' as well.
Hunter: My son plays his hunter a lot, not many seem able to get close to
him, bit green eyed when i see him pvp
Warrior: Might be my lack of experience as ive only recently started pvping
him
but these are the worst at pvp imho. My warrior is fairly well equipped
(epic 2 hander with crus, mix of blues and purples for the rest) whereas on
my rogue im trying to kill my opponent and clothies die quickly on my
warrior im spending most of my time trying to get control of my character
back. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

BTW - some of the racial traits which people ignore on PvE servers become
very important in a PvP enviroment because fear, stuns and movement
impairing effects are such a huge part of PvP combat. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

Easiest? Warrior and Hunters, though not most effective.
Most effective in small scale PvP? Shadow Priest and Sould Link Warlock.
Large scale PvP tips the scales towards co-operation and even the so called
"tragic" PvP classes like Holy Preists and Mages start to shine.
But - there are no all encompassing "i-win" class for PvP, as each
battleground will favour different classes and builds within classes. In AV
the Paladins really shine for example and Mages are good in WSG.
Note: mages are very squishy in PvP, Beastmaster Hunters, Warlocks with
Fellhunter and Stun Locking Rogies will all mess them up. Only play a Mage
if you have a lot of patience for a lot of death. Some of our guild mages
are getting pretty down.
Personally, I am going with a Soul Link / Affliction Warlock at the moment
as it is extremely tough is very small scale PvP and 1 on 1. Once my guild
loses it's current infatuation with ZG and starts queuing again as full
raids I will go back to my previous heavy affliction build for more damage
output. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

If you already have a rogue then you may not want another one, but I
think a rogue is the "easiest" for a pvp server....why? Well they have
stealth...and vanish... oh wait every class can counter that with a dot
and such........so nevermind....also everyone ganks the rogue because
they don't want to give the rogue a chance to gank them....
I'd say a Paladin. No one ever ganks a pally, well other then higher
levels. It takes to long to gank pally. Also my pally got his level 30
mace at level 20, and I absolutely owned up to level 35 with it. I
leveled to 35 so quick on my pally just due to gear. He is 51 now. I
think its great class, awesome for pvp alone and in groups. My pally is
the only class I have been able to roll over elites of the same level.
Also I've taken out red mobs, and 3 mobs 3-4 levels higher then me at
the same time. Think pally, think easy mode. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

Yeh it is also quite difficult to escape an attack that you know you
can't win with a warrior.
I have to say though an ms specced warrior can be absolutely _amazing_
in pvp, specially if u have a racial breakout skill like undead will of
the forsaken - it will take some practice, but it can be done. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

good point. It is a matter of how one play, there is no big advantage
for a special character. I really enjoyed rolling new characters and
playing them up to 20-25. At that point one can decide well what to
do next. >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

I suppose everything depends on your final goal !
If you just want to level, depending on which side you choose, I can
recommand some characters less ganked (yes !)
For exemple, I have a warrior, dwarf, female, and I almost never get ganked.
As I'm too easy for the opponents, and not worth the deal PLUS I look nice I
suppose (the name's important too)
On horde side, playing a tauren will in general have you in peace (unless
you're a shaman maybe)
On the contrary, my boyfriend has a human paladin toon (too many hours spent
playing WCII to resist choosing a loladin) and he's been griefed all the
time ! Hordies laugh at him in neutral towns when then /kiss me ^^
Then, if what you want is build a toon FOR pvp in the bir fresh air, a rogue
would definitively be, or a hunt.
As you already picked thoses classes, mages can be really good too. There
less good in BG I think, as you run quickly oom, and against several
opponents it's hard.
But have your mage in the 40's PVPing in SV is really difficult for
opponents.
Last, many PVP-server players know dont't really pvp in the open air, and
go a lot in BG's. Unless you go to "red" areas of course (remember "finding"
undercity in my 30's, didn't last very long ^^)
The warlock is also a good choice even on alliance, yes you have quests
going to the barrens, but you're stronger than plaayers questing there, and
in general hordies don't hate allys warlocks. As I use to say, I'd have
played horde if I could, but my friends where allys, so I picked a locl :p
I think a warlock is a more horde class, as a druid is more alliance.
Of course, depends on the servers.
But try both, pick a human paladin (I suppose dwarves are not as hated) or a
rogue night elf.
Then try a gnome warlock for instance.
Name the first "kevine" or "gandālf" and the second with a nice name just ti
be sure ! >> Stay informed about: Suggustions for first PvP server character? |

Or start an insurrection and convince their warlocks that the raid
guild is gimping them by disallowing the shadow priest's shadow
