Hello peeeps

On Monday night a fair amount of rum goings-on occured in my FR
Campaign -

The long a short of it was that one cha (Hmn Barbarian, 5th lev) was
slain and another (gnome ranger level 4) was petrified by a basilisk,

Both chars are really well established (esp the Barb) and inportant to
the campaign. I want to offer the rest of the party (average 5th level)
the chance to save the two PCs.

So - what Im after is a short side adventure where they can source a
raise dead and a stone-flesh. Any suggestions for a short mod -?

As I am running it on Monday, suggetions for a free WotC download mod
etc would be most useful.

PS
The party are currently lost in dense forest in winter.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I just wanted to avoid a classic 1st edition "Gygaxian" plot twist -
i.e

Room #23
A <insert name of creature with petrifying attack> lives here. It
attacks!

Room #24
Beneath the pile of old furs you find the treaure ;

2000 SP
a +1 shield
a scroll of stone to flesh

id strongly recomend not tailoring to their plight - especially the
deadguy...

if you were to tailor anything id crank up the intense-o-meter and go
for a total party wipeout, then everyones fair and square!

or let the dead guys make a pc out of a 5 hd monster or something
cool... or a new character whee. just my opinion..

as far as a great module for a party lost in a winter forest; dark
side of the moon? howl of the moon? i forget what its called exactly
but its a werewolf ravenloft module, on the top 5 best modules ever in
my opinion. i did find it on the web i can post it later or a link to
it, but its worth buying used... adjust a thing here and there and
budda bam.

or, also vauge, but there was once an absolutly wicked adventure in a
dungeon magazine concerniing a fort in a snowstorm, and some barbarian
guests have a slad egg in them and it unfolds like a alien/thing movie.
really really awesome. it can be turned into quite the horror story.
anyone know what issue that was? theres a ranger named "gaylord
hightower" in it...

You can't just have the party visited by Glenda the Good Witch (or such)
offering her services in exchange for a quick "retrieve the sacred
whatchamacallit" thing?

Well, a version that makes sense is: After you slay the basilisk, you
rummage around among the remains of adventurers who came before you.
One statuesque wizard type is on his knees, about to rummage through a
backpack. Inside is a stone-to-flesh scroll that he was trying to get
out to depetrify his friend before the basilisk came back...
