I'm curious about people's opinions controlling WW. I'm sure I'll
eventually use a hybrid of both control methods, but it's a work in
progress.
Right now, I prefer the buttons to do most everything. Here are my results
using the stylus:
Inventory control is great with stylus.
Writing notes, etc. is great with stylus.
Movement is much smoother, but less controlled than buttons. I always
stomp flowers when using the stylus. I also use my equipped item more
often than I want, and I have a lot of trouble speaking with people,
opening doors, etc.
I use the button to hit the money rock. I think the stylus would be
harder, am I wrong? I haven't seen Gracie yet. I don't think I want to
use the old "rub a pen across the buttons" method on my DS...
Fishing seems more frustrating (half the time I try to move instead of cast
my rod).
I think catching bugs with the stylus will be totally frustrating.
However, you may be able to creep with the stylus. Of course I will be
accidentally swinging my net instead, spoiling any advantage in creeping.
So, how much effort should I put into learning the stylus? I suppose I
want to know for both this game and the DS in general. My other two games
are Advance Wars and Mario Kart, and I don't use the stylus for them. I
happen to be left-handed, is that an issue? Advance Wars wanted me to use
the directional pad and the stylus in my right hand for one of its game
types, but I'm not as precise with my right hand.
Thanks in advance for any comments. >> Stay informed about: Stylus vs. button controls |

I use both, depending. And I switch back and forth, depending.
WarioWare Touched is the game you should get to learn the stylus. (It's
the only other DS game I own, but I do have the other two--and LOVE
them!)
Being left-handed actually could have been a massive problem in
WarioWare, but they made major adjustments for it. I have trouble
thinking it could possibly be a problem in ACWW.
Personally, I am doing my best to learn the stylus. When I played my GB
too long, or worse, my GBA too long, or worst, my GBASP too long--I'd
get wrist problems.
The DS is much, much, much worse than any of those.
It is too heavy. The buttons aren't right for me. I think they designed
this thing so I'd HAVE to use the stylus.
That said, I sure as heck can't use it for fishing!
Gotta run... >> Stay informed about: Stylus vs. button controls |
