I had this wedding, and all the Sims stopped moving, and they all stood around
waiting for a toast...
The bride and groom and daughter had all toast thought icons, at least 7 in a
row!
As fast as I could delete them new ones were popping up!!
Stupid wine bottle!! It was in a place the Sims couldn't seem to reach...
I had to put moveobjects on and delete the stupid thing!
Then all the Sims came to life and the game progressed!
Then at the end of the party, the bride didn't get in the limo and the groom
took off by hisself!!!
So I didn't save... will try again to have a proper wedding later.
BTW I noticed since I got Seasons, all the guests I pick come to wedding
parties! These Sims had only 1 friend between them, but all 7 selected guests
showed up!
Another time, I had no guests invited to a private garden wedding, and a sim
walking down the street changed into a wedding gown and joined in the ceremony!
(convenient clothing in her purse I guess...) after the event, she took off
again! >> Stay informed about: Stupid wine toast and other wedding anomalies. |

That champagne bottle is more trouble than it's worth at a wedding or party.
Same with the bar. All they want to do is drink! Maxis set the attraction
way too high on some of those objects, IMO. I wish there was a way to fix
that.

LOL! I had that happen and went ahead and played it that way. Nothing
unusual happened. The groom came home and the bride and he headed straight
for bed. Guess she didn't mind being left behind on her honeymoon to clean
up after the guests left. <g>

I've noticed that, too. It's rather neat, actually.

I've had the repairman, the gardner, the maid, the nanny, and the mailman
all change into formal clothing to join a wedding party if they happened to
be on the lot at that time. It's like, who invited these people? LOL

Never buy that wine bottle until right at the end of the party. It's a
PITA.
I've had the service people at weddings too. The last time, Lucy Hanby then
went on to clean the house in her posh frock. I use the term 'posh' loosely
here - it was Maxis ghastly as usual.
Best wishes

It just about guarantees a good party though, if you can control it!

I had it happen when the bride was pregnant and couldn't leave the lot.

I've had 2 parties with not all the guests coming, even though they were
suposed to be friends. Just about every party has had most of the gests
taking off early, too. But, as long as one hung around the party was still
successful. One party managed it because the host and remaining guest had a
water balloon fight.

I've had that happen, but the last party, after it was over, a walk by came
round the back to the buffet table, helped herself to a plate of turkey and
sat down and ate it. That was new to me.

I've had the groom take off and go to work, the bride going to the honeymoon
all by her lonesome...

If I have too many sims on a lot my game slows down a fair bit, so in some
cases I've had to invite just a couple of guests because the service people
(maid and gardener) plus a walk-by changed into formal when I had the sim
ring to throw party. I've had the champagne bottle craziness, too. And now
my game sports the no congratulations hack, because at one wedding all the
guests plus bride and groom were getting blotto on the champers, then got
stuck in a drink-and-congratulations loop that I couldn't get them out of
and the bride and groom missed the limo because I couldn't get them to lay
off the booze. No more booze at _my_ wedding parties!
