Hellfire?

I think we all did that, or maybe most of us. I learned it though and
now my hunter at almost level 69 will be finally getting that much
needed rep from HH in the Ramparts and Blood Furnace. She has hardly
done a quest in the Outlands.

Bah! It will also give me a chance to write about some interesting PuG
experiences for the amusement of others i nthe near future.

Yeah, it will mean you have to kill a few more mobs before hitting exalted.
Shouldn't be too hard to accomplish though.

If it makes you feel better, I did all the quests in Hellfire Peninsula
before ever going into an instance there. That probably meant several runs
through Shattered Halls that I could have done without

How exactly would you ever get honored with LC without turning in
quests?

Handing in lots and lots of feathers... I found the droprate was poor
enough that I just couldn't be bothered with the grind; I'm happy to hand
in plant parts to Cenarion Expedition to get honoured before questing with
them, as I get tons when farming primal life anyway (by that, I mean I had
about 700 on a bank alt before I handed a bunch in with my lock earlier...
still got well over 300 waiting for my next alt!), but the feathers aren't
on mobs I'd be killing otherwise, and it's just an annoying grind for a
faction with very poor rewards for most of my alts.

There's only a limited amount of quests available for each faction.
You get reputation for killing mobs in lvl 60-68 instances while
you're friendly or neutral with a faction (there are some exceptions,
such as Caverns of Time: Escape from Durnholde which gives reputation
all the way to exalted). When you get to honored, you only get rep
from quests and lvl 70 instances. If you do a lot of quests first and
get honored reputation and then do the instance runs (lower than lvl
70 instances), you won't get any reputation from the instance runs.

I think the problem is worst with Thrallmar/Honor hold. There's
relatively low amount of quests available and only Shattered halls
gives rep.

Okay - I cant believe I've played the game this long and still find
myself learning new things. I'll be honest - if it's something
everyone else seems to know Ill play along so I don't look stupid and
embarrass myself. So I'm sure there's lots of stuff I've simply
cruised by because I either thought it was something unimportant or
something Id just pick up on later. Please excuse my ignorance here -
but what are you guys talking about. Does it really matter if you do
the quests first or the runs, or is it the turn-in's. I'm confused.
How should it go? What's the goal by waiting to turn in quests?
Somebody explain the optimum situation with regards to grinding rep. I
swear I'm so freaking frustrated trying to get HH rep for a polearm
I've been wanting. The only option left to me it seems is to run
Shattered Halls over and over - which is fine - I kinda like the run.
But at somewhere between 1000 and 1500 points per run - I still have
at least 5 or 6 full runs through to get my rep. Could this have been
easier if I had done it all in a different order? Somebody help out
here.

Yeah HH is a pain; I thought I'd save myself a bit of SH grinding with my
lock and farm Ramparts/BF for rep before doing most of the quests, but
having done Ramparts last night and only got about 700 rep, I'm revising
that plan... hopefully BF gives more, if not, I'll just put up with SH
instead; at least there I can get groups with guildies instead of having to
go with pugs. With my other characters I just haven't bothered with HH rep
beyond revered (and even getting that far is enough of a pain, it was the
last heroic key I got on my rogue, long after all the others), but that
exalted sword really looks nice so I guess I'll have to step it up a bit on
my lock.
