| I just fot a blurb from EA about the new stuff pack saying you can
design and make your own clothes for your SIMS with it...is this really
true? If so, would I be able to make medieval clothes with it or is it
just some pick and choose type program?

I highly doubt it'll let you design your own meshes.... They always have a
way to make you excited about something..., only to let you down.

That's why I thought I'd ask first before thinking that maybe it had
some merit afterall...I don't have any stuff packs at all but am
considering the FF one because I keep running into long beard
problems...seems like all the nice longer beards were cloned off the FF
beard...my poor Tom Bombadil guy (renamed Bram Brae) is cleanshaven
since he was wearing a flashing blue beard until I fixed him.... >> Stay informed about: New Stuff Pack |

Did you try the fashion run way stuff? I think it may be something like
that and use that contest to test the water.
Long beard? How interesting. Though none of my sims has long beard, but
that sounds strangely intriguing.
That reminds me of a strange bug when I held a New Year Party. I think the
New Year old man turns kids thingy had a bug on me. The guy was missing
his body....
And when my teen boy went out on a date with his girlfriend, and he had a
shopping bag on his hand. Don't ever do a slow dance and do a smooch with
a bag! The way they kissed was really "twisted", and I mean literally!
The guy's hand was twisted in an angle that he really needed a
chiropractor....

I think it's just for the your avatars on the
site, reading it, I don't think it's for our Sims
to wear

design fashion garments for their avatar, and to
showcase those garments on the website

OK that's bizarre...so what they're really doing is having their
clients design clothes for them for free, which they will most likely
package and sell without paying any royalties or anything to the creator... >> Stay informed about: New Stuff Pack |

But isn't that what they've been doing all along? It seems that every stuff
pack that has come out is full of things I've seen other creators offer on
other sites, and I doubt if they've been paid anything.

Just seems exploitative to me...just like when AOL used its' members to
host chatrooms and their boards and monitor their sites...in trade for a
monthly suscription...when I first started online I was a board
moderator for a forum at AOL and the hours expected for the free
subscription came down to being paid about 1.00/hour...and on top of
that you had people hating you because you did what you were supposed to
do....I know creators walk into it knowing that they are doing it for
the love of the game, but when the mother corporation sadly abuses its'
own clients, that's a pretty bad indictment....anyway, I certainly
appreciate all the time and effort and know-how that the modders put
into their craft...I fiddled around making some walls and it is an
incredibly different process than in SIMS 1...I haven't dabbled any
further because it just didn't seem worth the time with all the good
stuff out there... >> Stay informed about: New Stuff Pack |

Oh Maxis/EA do that too. The boards at the Exchange are moderated by users.
They don't even get any kickback for it either. It's one of the reasons I
hate the place. Honestly, the poor moderators behave like school monitors
(and get a verbal lashing for it - mind you some of them behave like they
have their heads up their own behinds) but then what are they supposed to
do? They are supposed to be there to ensure 'everyone behaves and follows
the rules'. I think that's really poor on EA's part. And don't get me
started on the level of ignorance displayed by the posters there...

Walls and stuff are really easy in this game you know but, it's true, you
can get more or less anything at MTS2.
Best wishes
