Yep.

The help map is organized by locations AFAIK - the question that it
answers is "what do I have to do here ?". In some cases, you need to
do something else somewhere else.

He asked you to restore full power - due to the accident, Tomahna is
working in a sort of "emergency mode" - the most basic things work,
but not others.

He also said that you should contact him on Rhyme via the crystal
viewer after you were finished restoring the power. The "crystal code"
for Rhyme, Atrus said, was in his journal, and he pointed towards his
"lab".

Finally, he said "Keep an eye on Yeesha, will you ?".

Todos:

- restore full power.
- find journal, find crystal combination to call Atrus
- keep an eye on Yeesha.

SPOILERS below:

Hints:
- to restore power, you need to get out of Atrus' lab. Did you notice
how Atrus got in ? Did you miss another lever maybe ?

- restoring power is NOT as simple as pressing a switch or pulling a
lever.

Have fun!

Regards,
Gilles.

These were very basic hints only - congrats on solving this part of
Tomahna !

(I loved the athmosphere of "Tomahna by night" btw!)

You'll see more of Tomahna later ...

In all Myst games, you cannot die, and you cannot make any mistake
that would somehow "mess up" the game for you. So keep your eyes open,
read those journals (or have them read to you by using the amulet you
should have by now) , take pictures of any suspect notes, signs and
symbols you find, but don't worry about e.g. not being able to return
to a place where there's still something to do.

The age you are in now is called Spire and is quite a toughie. (But
you wouldn't play this game if you did not enjoy exercising your grey
cells and of course woudln't have them in the first place Smile

As far as I have found out until now, the two "brothers" ages can be
solved on their own (no need to return to Tomahna in between). Haven't
finished the fourth age right now.

The key to that slider puzzle (there are two more of the same type on
Serenia btw, they are easy to figure out once you've solved _one_) is
observe what happens with the lights when you move the slider right or
left, and also what happens after a given number of moves.

Reading Sirrus' journals, you'll soon find out what this spherical
vehicle is made of, how it works, and what he used it for. One very
important remark in one of these journals (that I first missed
completely) is about avoiding a "useless display of light".

>The game will allow me to progress in it and miss some important step

Yes, but OTOH being able to move on and tackle another puzzle helps
avoid the frustrating "I'm stuck with this puzzle and there isn't
anywhere else I can go or anything else I can do!!" situation.
Sometimes, moving on will allow you to encounter additional hints, or
simply focus your mind on something else, just to return and take the
problem by surprise when it isn't expecting you Smile

I did not need it until now. I think it is simply there for "decor".
But I haven't finished the game yet.

Regards,
Gilles.

You are correct. You can finish Spire and Haven "on their own" but
there are clues in Tomahna that can help you. To finish the fourth
age(Serenia) you needs clues obtained in Spire and Haven.

I've finished the game and there was no use for that thing other than
maybe a another hint for the power "grid" puzzle.
