Post subject: Stuck in Ultima Underworld I

Hello.
I'm on level 2, I went to see the dwarf king's treasure (behing the door
which needs a password); to make sure no dwarf would see me, I closed the
door behind me. Then I saved my game, and went to see the golem. Having seen
what it could do to me, I reverted to my savegame; and now the door is
locked, so I can't get out of this place!
How can I solve this problem?

Quickest solution, assuming you've planted the silver seed, is to die, and
resurrect wherever you planted it. Either anger the golem, or sleep until you
starve to death.
Otherwise, an Open spell might work, but you probably don't have the Ex rune
yet (I believe that was on level 6).

If you used the password 'deco morono' then it doesn't matter if the
mountain men see you, I think, unless you got it without asking Goldthirst.

Thanks for the answers. I didn't plant the silver seed, so that wasn't an
option (I did since). As I didn't have the right rune, I couldn't use a
spell (and I'm a fighter, so...)
I reverted to a previous save and now am on the 7th level.

Ripping Ultima music - So what's the popular way of ripping Ultima music? How were those MIDIs found in various places over the years made? Did someone sit at a MIDI keyboard and perform them all from memory? Or did someone manage to capture the output to the sound card while....
Commodore discs names - I dl'ed a C64 emulator and one of the games I want to play again is Ultima V. My discs are buried in storage somewhere, could someone tell me what the original disc names are so I can get things right when I swap them?
rotworm stew - Does anyone remember making this stuff in Underworld I? I'm having a problem because I'm supposed to put a dead rotworm into the bowl. But after I kill it the critter turns into a green blood stain before I can pick it up, and I can't pick up blood..
Spawn points? - Does anyone know how the monsters were spawned in the overworld in Ultimas 2 and 3? (and 4 and 5, I guess). Were there spots on the map that randomly spawned a random enemy? Because I honestly can't think of any time in one of those games when I saw an.. |
