I've evaded the tigers, solved the scales puzzle, entered the secret
monastery, and found the Excalibur sword. Now, how do I get out? I don't see
a way. I've swung the sword and everything in sight ... no results.

I don't want a give away ... can someone provide a subtle clue to the
solution, without explicitly giving away the answer?

Thanks.

Okay, I finally found a way out. That reverse sword swinging was tricky.

So now I'm out, and I'm jumping from one teetering post/bridge-segment to
another:

- From the initial platform, jump left to one platform.
- Then turn right and jump to the larger platform, catching the edge.
- Pull up, turn right, and run/jump to the next large platform.
- Turn left and jump to the last (small) platform.
- Then ... screwed. Nowhere to go. Crash

One time, I managed to turn right at that point, and jump to a "vacant" post
.... one that had no platform teetering on top. That was a "stable" post that
won't fall over, but there seemed to be nowhere to go. I tried the grappler,
no luck. I tried to jump to the side balcony, dead duck.

Anyway, I've tried to get back to that "stable" post, but haven't been able
to. The first time was dumb luck ... I can't turn right fast enough to see
where to jump in order to get to that post.

Is that the right place to go? If so, what next?

This is the right path, just need to run and jump one more time
to grab the ledge just ahead. The timing seems tricky here, and
maybe a bit random.

I can't exactly remember the order, but I remember it was fairly intuitive.
So I'd say that if that's the path that was working for you, then you're
following the right path.
I found, however, that you had to be exceedingly quick, and to jump from the
last post - which should directly face the platform and the stairs up and
out of the room - at the right time. Ie., as soon as you land on it.
Otherwise it falls too far and Lara misses the platform.
Not much help, but hopefully it helps a little...

....And -- it CAN be done even if some of the platforms have fallen and you
can't use the direct route any more (because you caused them to collapse
earlier). It's harder, in terms of thought, but perhaps easier in terms of
agility. (You get to stop and think, once you figure out how to survive the
collapse of the initial platform she's standing on.) It's an interesting
little puzzle. I recommend trying it sometime, just for fun. You should
be able to use this "other" method even if all of the platforms are still in
place, and you simply want an alternative. (You know. Like right now.)

So, it's do-able -- in at least two ways.

Yeah, I got it now. I originally thought that the gap was too wide to jump,
so I was expecting some other means of getting across (like, using the
grappler). The high-overhead bell-shaped thing is still glowing (indicating
grapple-ability), but it didn't grapple. So I was stuck.

But I just now tried the straight-ahead jump. Got it the first time.

I saved the next level (Bolivia) in a separate savegame slot, and came back
to the monastery to re-try the exit maneuver. It took several tries to get
that jump to work again, but I eventually got it.

Meanwhile, Cleve says, in another post:

Gotta try that. I've not yet figured out how to survive the collapse of the
initial platform. Maybe the grappler is the answer? I'll soon see.

And, if you're going back, check out the thing that "causes them to collapse
earlier". (See my May 12 thread, called "Nepal Oddity".)

Oh. PC. Yeah, maybe it's a bit harder on a PC.

Speaking of Next Gen ... I don't have a card that supports it. What
difference does it make? Does anyone have comparison screen shots to show
the difference?
