Horror, terror, anguish, fear, anger, pain, blood-injected-eyes, panick

7 silver to smelt. 122 mining. skill up, skill up, come on... come
on...! COME ON! Argh. Stuck at 124. On to the thousand needles, let's
mine that last skill.

there's a node! copper. Argh. Grey.
Another one- no, two! Iron, red, gold, red, grmbl.
Copper all around, Iron all around, did I see that one, already? Argh,
yes, it's the same copper as the previous one so... so that means the
tin over there has respawned? chunk, chunk, chunk no... no... no skill.
oh well. iron, iron, copper, copper, copper, iron, iron, mithril, GIVE
ME TIN, PLEASE!

A fairly accurate description of the pain I felt, being 124 mining in
thousand needles, as it took me about one hour and a half to level
mining from 115 to 125, and 3 minutes from 125 to 130.

I sometimes hate this game :'D

Well, yeah, I got to 115 in Hillsbrad previously, but I thought that by
going to thousand needles from the crossroads by foot, I would hit 125
on arrival and start mining iron ore already.

Guess what? I was stuck at 124 for exactly the time it takes to travel
from 1k Needles to Tarren Mill. I hate this game Smile

Usually there's lots of tin in Hilsbrad - especially in the mine
there, west of Southshore. It is a tin mine, after all. Smile

Two good places I found when I got stuck in the tin rut. At the bottom
of each oasis in Barrens, you'll find a vein, possibly two in the
biggest one. The pace is not quick, but it is a steady place to get 4
or 5 points a run. The really good one is in Wetlands though.

At the easternmost point, just before the tunnel to Theselmar, head
south and there will be a spider cave beyond some slimes. It is full of
a quest ore, incendicite I think (don't remember for sure as it has
been awhile). But it skills just like tin and the cave is full of it.
Just bang on the rocks and toss it over your shoulder as you finish. I
skilled up through tin completely there in one evening. Just beware the
spiders and go with some friends. I don't remember their level, but
their respawn rate was unnerving at the time.

Sounds more like "Love to Hate". Smile

PS - Bart's got a good point about the +5 Mining Enchant. Plus you're
going to hit another plateau later in the the game I believe too, so
this advice is still valid.

The real trick is to put the Enchant on a pair of White Cloth Level 0
(ie no level) gear from the starting areas (Vally of Trials,
Deathknell, Mooville or whatever it's called). Then absolutely anyone
can wear them regardless of class. You can pass them around your guild
to anyone who's leveling up an alt and needs them. Ditto of course for
the +Skinning and +Herbs enchanted White-Cloth-L0 gloves.

In fact, my guild maintains a set of "Starter Twink" L3 White gear from
the vendor in Org for each material type: Cloth, Leather and Mail. It's
only got the mid-level enchants (180-225) on each piece, but it was
made by me basically for free while I was levelling up my Enchanter
anyway. Those mid-level Enchants make our hand me down Starter Twink
sets roughly the equivelent stat-wise of low teens Green gear. And we
just give it to anyone who wants to start a new toon and have them send
it back when they hit L12-14.

Took me 2 weeks to go from cooking 90 to cooking 110. Then i went from
110 to 150 in 5 minutes. A lack of mats, either found or on the AH,
made it impossible to level. And as you rise in levels, it gets harder
and harder to find appropriate materials in the higher level zones.

Having to travel vast distances for secondary manuals is tedious too.
Fortunately I'm making a killing selling additional copies on the AH,
but it was a pain getting them in the first place.

Let me guess -- I'm not going to have fun getting my Dragonscale
leatherworking, am I? Sad

Snort. On three characters now, I've gone from 225 to 300 in something like
20 minutes. While catching all the giant clams you need to turn in the
cooking quest, you're also catching all the things you need for those last
75 points. Cooking needs some redesign work - it's way too easy to max out.

From all accounts, welcome to hell. You will be killing dragonkin in the
burning steppes until your head explodes. *

Yep, fantastic place, both my Alliance miners did some skillups there... my
horde miner meanwhile was wandering all around stonetalon and hillsbrad
cursing the lack of suitable veins and seeing unmineable iron nodes all
over the place! Think if I level any more horde miners I'll just run them
to wetlands anyway; it might be miles away from anything I'd be likely to
do but it's so good for skillups.
