There are many variations of SF-II, and most of those
only require a 3 eprom swap at U21, U22 and U23.
I've actually provided a few folks with some of these upgrades/mods.
(... by chance, were the fancy stickers in color
with a checksum value on them ?
I "think" you can change to several different versions
by swapping those 3 eproms as long as you stay within
the same SF-II "family"... ( The "Families" being
SF-II World Warrior, SF-II Champ Edition and Super SF-II )
ie. I don't "think" you can change a World Warrior to a Champ Edition
without other chip upgrades (possibly a security chip),
but you can for instance change WW from "World" to "US" versions,
or a Champ Edition from "World" to "Accelerated" to "Hyper Fighting"
to "Rainbow" , etc...
Then again, I don't actually own a SF-II,
so these are only my observstions on a few eprom sets
I've programmed for people.
Anyone with proven info is welcomed to confirm or correct my findings.
Cheers,
Steph
