Wow rolled home tonight with one of these boards... nice! I'm looking
to get some more info one these. Couldn't find anything on klov.
I'm assuming this was capcoms response to all the bootleg mods that
flooded the vid arcades for these boards back in sf's hay days..!? ..
Anyone thinking it was an upgrade kit that capcom sent out in the mail?
If so there must no be many of these out there I would presume... Food
for thought for the "street fighter generation" out there. .Smile

Bootleg for sure. There was a mass spur of blackmarket roms that showed
up. Street fighter hyper fighting (one way or another) is a direct
result of those roms. I kinda wish hyper fighting had the mid-game
player change. What does the board look like? is it just an origional(3
layer board) with a rom swap? or one single layer board?

The board is indeed an original capcom Ce 3 layer board... 3 roms were
changed out with pretty good looking stickers for the lable. This threw
initially me off that it was a possible upgrade from capcom themselves.
I now don't believe it's a capcom original mod. fireballs go all
over the place. havnt had much log time on it yet. that's what stood
out though.

Chad.

Try pressing PL 1 button mid fight. Some bootlegs let you switch
characters on the fly. I think thats such an awesome thing because if
some one is a total bitch or knows how to "spam" a move repeatedly
(read cheapassedly) That circumvents that sort of annoyance.
Thats the only thing i would add to hyperfighting to make it a very
well rounded combat scenario. BTW, Hearing about Hyperfighting on the
xbox 360 makes me VERY tempted
:/

There are many variations of SF-II, and most of those
only require a 3 eprom swap at U21, U22 and U23.

I've actually provided a few folks with some of these upgrades/mods.
(... by chance, were the fancy stickers in color
with a checksum value on them ? Wink

I "think" you can change to several different versions
by swapping those 3 eproms as long as you stay within
the same SF-II "family"... ( The "Families" being
SF-II World Warrior, SF-II Champ Edition and Super SF-II )

ie. I don't "think" you can change a World Warrior to a Champ Edition
without other chip upgrades (possibly a security chip),
but you can for instance change WW from "World" to "US" versions,
or a Champ Edition from "World" to "Accelerated" to "Hyper Fighting"
to "Rainbow" , etc...

Then again, I don't actually own a SF-II,
so these are only my observstions on a few eprom sets
I've programmed for people.

Anyone with proven info is welcomed to confirm or correct my findings.

Cheers,
Steph
