Post subject: Strange happenings in Imperial City

Walking through the Market district, I heard a challenge from one of
the guards. I assumed I had been caught stealing or something and
turned to see what was happening - but instead of coming for me I saw
two guards running towards each other with drawn swords, and then they
proceeded to fight to the death.

Most odd...

I killed the pirates at the Imperial city waterfront. Any .. - I tried to go on board the pirates ship at the Imperial City water front, and they attacked me, so I killed them. Is this going to cause problems later in the game? Will I miss out on any cool quests or anything?

Selling to Merchants and Leaving the Imperial City - I've gone into a number of shops now and have been able to buy things. But how do I sell my stuff to them? I see no option for that. Is it because the merchant isn't interested? Also, I'm trying to get to the city of Bruma fm the Imperial..

[OBLIVION] Investing 500 gold in shops of Imperial City? - Shops often have a conversation topic that allow you to invest 500 gold. I don't see a mention in the manual of why this might be of benefit. Anybody have a better idea? Do we get a share of profit or something? Do they accumulate better stuff to sel...
