Converted 73rd birthday money to a second lesson in C150. I was surprised
to be left on my own to do pre-flight inspection - no bird's nest in the air
intake. It was a glorious morning over the Central Coast of NSW, and the
challenge was to fly straight and level - resulting in fairly straight and
mostly level. As has been emphasized here before, the feel after FS is so
different and the whole sensory thing adds to the experience. This RF is
addictive; problem is having to wait too long for the next time.

I have always said real life flying is easier in terms of controlling the
plane than the sim...

Have not been up in a while but tempted to do it soon .Miss it a lot Smile

It's a costly business learning to fly and if I had a spare 6-10K I would do
it.
Wonder how much my granny is worth as she may be up for sale. Wink

Only joking!

I commend you for taking a real flight lesson. At 73 it's no small task
learning to fly. I recommend at least the inroductory flight lesson for
all non-licensed PC pilots.

Like the other poster said I found real flying easier than FlSim. Then
FS doesn't cost me $100/hr a flight for an out of town meal.

Congratulations and welcome to the real world of flying.

I love that *fairly* straight and *mostly* level. Wait until you get
to steep turns <Smile)

I loved the whole thing from the initial flights to stalls, take offs,
landings, navigation and FINALLY the first solo. I didn't think much
about it when the instructor go out, or when I took off, but about the
time I lined up on final the thought "What the Hell am I doing up here
all alone", *briefly* cross my mind and was gone.<Smile)

I hope you aren't going to wait for the next birthday.<Smile)
Get out there and learn to fly. We had one pilot who was well into
his 80's that learned to fly.

Again, congratulations!

Good question. Not as soon as I'd like it to be.
